“Exploring the Rich Culture of India: A Journey Through History, Art, and Religion” India is a vast and diverse country, known for its colorful culture, ancient history, and rich traditions. As a content provider for a cultural resource company,
In CultureAtlas, you have used a few journeys for your work. There was the MesoAmerican Indigenous sites, the Thirteen Capitals of the West Indies, and South American Country Capitals. In each you explored what CultureAtlas thought were the most relevant pieces of information. At the same time you have been exploring a country of your choice.
For your paper, you will take on the role of applying for a job as a “Content Provider” for a cultural resource company and you must present your choice of a journey for them to evaluate if you should come on board as their content provider. They need to see an example of your work to determine if you will be hired. To do that, they have asked you to create a journey of your own which they might consider for their use. This could be the country you have been exploring in the course, but it can be another one, if you’d like. You will present 6 aspects of the country to try and convince them that the journey you have chosen is worthy of putting it on their site or publication.
First, you will present 3 aspects related to the country you have chosen, which are included in all of the company’s “journeys”. These are 1) important geographical information about the country, 2) general history of the country, 3) and important historical figures from the country. The last 3 are at your discretion. You can choose from the indigenous people of the country, architecture, archeology, literature, art, or music. You should choose 3 topics you feel strongly should be included in the journey. Please note: Because there are 6 topics, it does NOT mean only 6 paragraphs). Every topic can be a few paragraphs.
The writing aspect of your paper should be about 1700 words (WORD, [NO PDFs Pages or Googledocs]12 pt. font. MLA format.). You may insert some images and some links, but these do not count for length of the paper. You may use the resources packaged up for you in CultureAtlas (in library, resources or their other sources) but you cannot cut and paste. You can also use outside resources that are reliable.
THIS IS A PERSUASIVE PAPER. Whatever the information provided, you must convince the interviewing team that you should be hired. Therefore, you must convince them of the importance and relevance of the topics and information chosen. Although it is a written paper, think of it as presenting it to the team as part of your interview process. -

“Living by the Truth: Rules for Ethical Interactions”
What rules can be followed by someone dedicated to the truth?
This activity is designed to assist students in the process of developing personal and professional ethics as they become more adept and competent at communicating with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Evaluate the following arbitrary rules of interaction:
First, never speak about a falsehood.
Second, bear in mind that the act of withholding the truth is always potentially a lie; and that in each instance in which the truth is withheld, a significant moral decision is required.
Third, the decision to withhold the truth should never be based on personal needs, such as a need for power, a need to be liked, or a need for protection from challenge.
Fourth, and conversely, the decision to withhold the truth must always be based entirely upon the needs of the person or people from whom the truth is being withheld.
Fifth, the assessment of another’s needs is an act of responsibility, which is so complex that it can only be executed wisely when one operates with genuine love for the other.
Sixth, the primary factor in the assessment of another’s needs is the assessment of that person’s capacity to utilize the truth for his or her own spiritual growth.
Finally, in assessing the capacity of another to utilize the truth for spiritual growth, it should be borne in mind that our tendency is to underestimate rather than overestimate this capacity -
