Navigate and familiarize yourself with CDC’s Vital Signs page on – Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
STEP 2:
Identify a celebrity who has battled addiction/died from it (Jimmy Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, Curt Cobain, John Belushi, Heath Ledger, Whitney Houston, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Cory Monteith, Michael Jackson, among others.) 
Research the celebrity’s life: early childhood history, family history, health status relationship status, SUD history, challenges in life, life goals, coping skills, strengths, weaknesses.
Using the Adverse Childhood Experience Questionnaire, estimate the ACEs score for your chosen celebrity.
Based on your secondary data research and analysis, write 5-6 pages APA style case study. Include a cover page, and the reference page; not abstract needed.

Case studies are about real-life situations. They involve an in-depth observation of a “case” such as an event, process, or person. Case studies require you to demonstrate the skills of observation, analysis, problem solving, and should be written in formal professional language.
What to include in your case study?
Introduction: Why are you doing this case study. Why did you choose the celebrity you chose? What are the the key issues of the celebrity you chose to research.
Body: Set up the scene, pay attention to the background information, most relevant facts, and the issues you think are relevant and significant to the connection between childhood trauma and addiction.
What happened to this person? Was there a history of childhood trauma? What was the ACEs score? What were the risk and protective factors during the celebrity’s childhood? How and when did problems with addiction start? What is the status? What interventions were used? If your celebrity died from an overdose, what might have led to the overdose.
Recommendations/Conclusion:
Do you agree or disagree with the childhood trauma and addiction connection? What could have been a different path for this person based on the protective factors. What impacted the way you view this celebrity? Make sure you support your statements with facts and data.
Write a 5 to 6 pages APA style paper including cover page and at least 5 references. You may use the two studies included in Step One.
