  • Designing the Perfect Infant and Toddler Center: A Comprehensive Guide

    For this assignment you will design your dream infant and toddler center design. This project will be guided by Chapter 21, 27 and 28 in your textbook.  This design will include the following: 
    A indoor layout ( wall to wall image or drawing of your indoor environment)
    An outdoor layout  ( wall to wall image or drawing of your outdoor environment)
    A description of your indoor and outdoor  layout . 
    Your description should be broken up into domains and each domain will include safety considerations for that area that align with community care licensing.
    Your description must have a minimum of 5 references to Chapter 27 or 28 from our class textbook. 
    Your indoor layout must include the following areas:
    Family Area
    Area for safe sleeping
    Area for eating
    Area for diaper changing and toilet learning
    Multiple areas for free play and exploration that support all domains of development   (  motor/ physical, cognitive, social, language/literacy and emotional)
    Your outdoor environment must include areas for eating, handwashing and outdoor play and exploration that support all domains of development ( motor/ physical, cognitive, social, language/literacy and emotional).
    Your description must include how many children maximum will be in the space and how many caregivers.
    Your submission must include what scales from the  Environmental Rating Scale ( ITERS ) guided your planning.
