 As a sports information, or public relations person in the sports industry, you will write a lot of news/press releases. Write your own sports news release on a sports topic
 focus on whether you were able to garner all the necessary information about the person, place, or thing based on the release.  
 “A press release is simply a statement prepared for distribution to the news media announcing something claimed as having news value with the intent of gaining media coverage.” 
 
The release should provide who, what, where, when, why, and how in the first one or two sentences. This is the opening paragraph, and should never be more than one paragraph.
The body of the news release should provide additional information pertinent to the subject. Depending on the release, the body should be one or two paragraphs, with each paragraph being three to five sentences. The body is the story part of the news release.
The last paragraph is the boilerplate. This provides an overview of the company or organization, a quick snapshot. This is similar to the About Us section of most company websites, although the boilerplate may be a shortened version.
All press releases need to include point of contact information, which goes at the very top. There should also be something that signifies the end. Many public relations people will center ### at the bottom of the page to signify the end. In the sports industry it is also common to see the team name, initials, or such at the end of the list.

After the successful marketing and public relations campaigns your company created, the local Little League baseball organization has contacted the athletic director about using the University’s facilities for the opening day ceremonies. This is a first for the school, so they have again contracted your company to help them manage the event.
The opening ceremonies include an introduction of the 10 teams in the league, recognition of last year’s champion by the city’s mayor, and the tip-off game between last year’s first and second place finishers.  Over the millennia, various epidemic and pandemics have greatly  influenced the course of human events. This can be witnessed in military  and political affairs, in cultural worldviews, in the development of  the arts and folklore. This assignment consists of descriptions of  epidemics from throughout the western world and interpretations of their  impact.  In a short research paper consider the following questions and  answer them in your response. 
Be sure to synthesize (all) the material into your own analysis of  the role of plague throughout the centuries. Are the plagues discussed  the same diseases? What are their similarities?
