Please answer the following questions in paragraph form:
1. Choose four of the characteristics/skills necessary to become a successful math teacher that you think are the most important. Explain why you chose those four.
2. Define “procedural knowledge” and “conceptual knowledge”. Define “mathematical proficiency”. What contributes to mathematical proficiency? How is a productive disposition important?

I have attached the paper – the PowerPoint should highlight the important parts of the paper – the PowerPoint should have some pictures and a video too – the 15th slide will be for the bibliography using everything from the paper and the whatever video you may use.

The scientific method is the foundational approach for rigorous empirical investigation and needs to be thoroughly understood prior to embarking upon a choice of research methodology or the overall design of an educational research study. Different types of research across research methodologies (qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods) and across research paradigms (post-positivist, interpretivist/constructivist, transformative, and pragmatic) all require adherence to this method.
Your assignment should include an outline and a brief essay. For help with an outline, check out the link in this week’s resources.
Create an outline of the steps involved in conducting a research study (1-2 pages). This outline of the steps that codify the principles and conventions involved in conducting research should be an expanded list based on the four broad steps illustrated in Figure 2 in the week’s lesson.
Compose a short, explanatory essay explaining the role of the scientific method in conducting research (1 page).
Length: 1-2 page outline and 1-page essay uploaded as one Word document
References: Include a minimum of 3 scholarly resources that are cited within the text and referenced at the end of the document in APA style.

This is a 10 page adult education research paper on the importance of community colleges. The 10 pages are not including the needed reference page and the needed cover page.
There must be 10 peer reviewed professional articles sited in APA format.

Part I – 
Prior to responding complete your reading of The Spirit Catches You And You Fall Down 
After reading the story indicate ways in which culture affected the family’s relationship with society and specifically their child’s medical treatment. Discuss who was right and/or wrong in their attitudes and behavior? Explain and justify your conclusions? What was your reaction to the book and did you find it to be a meaningful read? Are there any other books you might recommend to broaden people’s cultural sensitivities? (I want to expand my own reading list.)
Part II – 
Clearly culture affects all aspects of the way a person interacts with society, which must include the interactions between children, their parents and school leadership.  Hopefully by reading our textbook, you have read examples of the interactions between cultural influences, societal institutions, and how easy it is for miscommunication and tradition to create obstacles to a successful integration of immigrants into our society. While The Spirit focuses on medical treatment, a variety of other issues affecting your students can be identified.
As a teacher especially in the New York Metropolitan area you will come across a diverse student population. According to some statistics there are over 1,000,000 students attending New York City schools and the surrounding areas, of which some 40% live in a household in which the parents speak a language other than English. Among languages spoken we can include: Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Urdu, Persian, Hindi, Russian, Bengali, Haitian Creole, Korean, and Arabic. As such, you can easily see that a teacher must be prepared for students whose traditions and cultures may be very different than those of other students in your class and even yours. 
Key concerns to address in your essay both specific to A Spirit Catches You… and in the course readings to date: 
Basic conflicts that you were able to identify, others you identified in previous assignments and how it impacts on children, authorities such as teachers, administrators, physicians, and other social service providers and the family? 
Takeaways that you are left with after reading the book that can inform you as a citizen and a teacher, knowing how diverse your students may be?  
Please reach out to teachers and other educators and identify ways in which they may have encountered the clash between culture and school rules and procedures. Please try to identify any issues that may relate to the communication between students and teachers and the development of English language literacy skills.  
To what degree are there specifics points of conflict between one’s culture and school requirements and expectations?

Part III –
Describe classroom strategies you would use to ensure an atmosphere of respect for each other regardless of background, religion, race, ethnicity, and culture. In other words, what kinds of activities would be happening and what kind of classroom environment would characterize Culturally Responsive Teaching?

Critique of Solution
In the 1st portion of the paper, the team will write up a response critiquing the strengths and
weaknesses of your proposed solution. (Please show group development of response to receive full
credit for this portion of the assignment.)
In the course of drafting your response, please address the following:
You have done research into what research concerns could impact the solution. Not everyone depended upon the same lens for framing the problem and thus deciding on research to pursue.
– So, what areas are missing?
– What do you believe are the ramifications for not considering certain research areas? 
– What are the strengths of their research approach?
You also all have professional experiences and otherwise to evaluate solutions that others propose.
– Please use that professional experience and experience in other situations to think through the strengths and weaknesses of solutions proposed.
Group Evaluation of Group Functioning
In the 2nd portion of the paper, the team will write up a response wherein each member addresses 
the following questions:
1) How has each team member’s prior understanding about the problem been adjusted due to the
learning process (each team member must respond)?
2) How did the group function?
3) What strengths and weaknesses did each person bring to the group process (each team 
member must respond)?
4) What changes would each person make to help your future group function effectively (each         team member must respond)?
