  • Title: The Future of Renewable Energy in the United States: Goals, Strategies, and Challenges

ESSAY 3 QUESTIONS: There are 3 essay questions.
    Question #1:
“It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.” Albert
    Einstein (Scientist)
The United States is considered one of the leaders in energy management and technology.
However, we have a long way to go before we are in a good position to declare a victory of the
    energy crisis.
Using the website, listed below, as a starting point discuss what you feel the United States should
set as renewable energy goal and how we should begin to attain that goal. Please feel free to do
research if necessary but please remember citations. You may need to cut and paste the website
    if the link doesn’t work
    LINK FOR FIRST QUESTION:
    https://www.doi.gov/priorities/clean-energy-future#:~:text=a%20variance%20process.-,As%20directed%20by%20President%20Biden’s%20Executive%20Order%2014008%2C%20Tackling%20the,onshore%20renewable%20energy%20by%202025
    Question #2:
Former President Obama’s was quoted as saying, “[w]e can’t have an energy strategy for the
last century that traps us in the past. We need an energy strategy for the future – an all-of-
the-above strategy for the 21st century that develops every source of American-made
energy.” Do you agree or disagree? And how do you think our government should best utilize
“American-made energy”? You can start your research/response by reading the article below
which discusses how much is really spent on energy. The article is a few years old but should
give you a good base line for your response. Use the quote and this article to further discuss your
analysis of the current and future situation of energy in our country. Please feel free to do
research if necessary but please remember citations.
    LINK FOR SECOND QUESTION:

What does the U.S. Government really spend on energy?

    Question #3:
Using this website link as your starting point, please discuss why wind farms have become
important as an energy resource. In addition, please discuss if you agree or disagree with the use
of wind farms in the metropolitan area? Finally, discuss your opinions with the NIMBY (not in
my back yard) feelings that slow down development of many beneficial environmental projects
including wind farms? Please feel free to research if necessary but as always, remember to cite.

BONUS QUESTION: (please keep your response under 100 words)
Do you feel the pandemic is in any way related to the damage we have caused to the
environment? —– there is no right or wrong answer.
Please don’t hesistat to reach out if you have any questions!

If any doubts regarding what needs to be done and what to include, please get in touch immediately.
This is an important assignment for me.

  • “Managing Construction Scheduling Risks: Strategies and Tools for Anticipating and Mitigating Delays”

Research paper regarding Risk Management in Construction Scheduling. Investigate strategies and tools for incorporating risk management principles into construction schedules to better anticipate and mitigate potential delays.
    Assignment
    Requirements:
    All
reports must have no more than 2500 to 5000 words of text.
    Only
submit a Microsoft Office Word file for the submission.
    Pages
shall be numbered in the lower right-hand corner of the page.
    Each page
shall have a header with the name, date, and “Research Paper”
    written at the top.
    The
discussion section should flow with a new paragraph when a topic changes.
Be careful with your in-text sources and citations.  A number less
than 10 should be written out: “five” instead of “5”.
It would be best to use quotes only when you cannot paraphrase the author’s
words.  Do not use filler sentences to take up space, get to the
point.  I will take off points if you are filling up space just to
    get your page requirements.
    The
    paper’s conclusion should be a brief conclusion of your topic and opinion;
do not repeat everything you said in the body of the paper.
    Page
numbering starts on the second page and begins with 2.
    There
should not be blue hyperlinks on your reference page!  All text
    should be in black.
    All papers
must be double-spaced in size 12, Times New Roman font.
    All
reports must be formally written. You are learning a profession; be
professional. Do not use slang, contractions, or personal pronouns.
Must include abstract, introduction, literature review, discussion, conclusion, and references.

  • “Designing a Reliable and Fail-Safe Air Supply Valve for a Pneumatic Control Valve in a Power Plant”

    Step 1: Consider the scenario.
You are a power plant engineer tasked with determining the valve and actuator designs for supplying air to a pneumatic control valve.
The valve and actuator designs must ensure enough air pressure is supplied to a pneumatic control valve to position the valve from fully open to a fully closed position as quickly as possible.
The pneumatic control valve is a six-inch valve that is in a system designed to protect the power plant from damage due to an initiating event. The air supply is a 200-300 psig system.
Step 2: Develop a valve and actuator design recommendation.
Your recommendation should be 2-3 pages in length (excluding title, diagrams, and reference pages).
Keep in mind system reliability and fail-safe requirements when providing your recommendation, as well the psig of the air supply system.
Step 3: Ensure your document adheres to APA formatting.
APA formatting includes title page, reference page, double spacing, one-inch margins, and headings. The title and reference pages are required but do not count towards the 2-3 page count.
As you are working on your written paper for this course, and asked to design an air supply valve for a 6-inch pneumatic control valve in a safety system, take some time to think about what you are being asked to do. This prompt can be a bit confusing, because it is talking about two valves. Valve “A” is a 6-inch control valve in a safety system. For the purpose of this assignment, it already exists. Valve “B” supplies 200-300 psig compressed air to the pneumatic actuator to close Valve “A” when required. You are being asked to come up with the design for a valve and actuator for Valve “B,” the air supply valve, so think small and fast.
Remember the assignment criteria: Keep in mind system reliability and fail-safe requirements when providing your recommendation, as well the psig of the air supply system.
Your paper should answer questions like,
What position will your supply air valve fail? (Open, closed, or as-is)
What happens in the system when your valve fails?
What type of actuator would you design for this purpose?
How does your design ensure your valve fails to the correct position? (This is where system pressure is important.)
It is worth revisiting the application of the valve you are designing when considering the above questions.
    Math may be required.

  • “Industrial Applications of Pressure Vessels: A Brief Overview” Industrial Applications of Pressure Vessels: A Brief Overview Pressure vessels are containers designed to hold fluids or gases at a pressure significantly different from the ambient pressure. They are used in various

Pressure vessels have been extensively used by various industries to store fluids under high pressure. They come in different shapes and sizes, including spherical and cylindrical geometries.
Task: Pressure vessels have been presented in the current Solid Mechanics chapter which is designed to highlight the theory that could be applied to design these important structures. In this task, you need to submit a short report with a maximum of a single A4-sized page to highlight how pressure vessels have been used by various industries, including the oil and gas, chemical, and energy sectors. You may include figures and images in your presentation of the industrial applications of these structures.
