This week, you’re going to build on your outline – *include the name of your major.
I gave you feedback for your outline — which was a basic topic outline. For your paper, you will need to provide “evidence” from your sources to support your main arguments and sub-arguments.
This version of your outline for this assignment will be the same outline you did before, but you will create complete sentences instead of just topics or fragments. You will also incorporate quotes, paraphrases and summaries from your sources that support your main points. I want to see these underneath your arguments in the outline. You must also include the in-text citation for the source and provide a reference list at the end.

WRITING QUALITY:
Writing should reflect full sentences, proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization are required. Avoid writing as you would text (e.g., “u” in place of “you.”)    
 Student responses to discussion questions must be thorough and reflect an understanding of course material. Be organized in your thoughts and ideas. Q2. Because of Pandemic, our work and social life heavily rely on virtual communication. Read class reading, Communicating in virtual groups and teams by Beebe & Masterson (pp. 21-26). Then, discuss the followings:1) There are six key differences between virtual and non-virtual collaboration in the class reading. Describe and explain those. Cite textbook. What are the benefits and drawbacks of working virtually with groups? 2) Choose one of three theories in the reading. First define the theory with textbook citation.How does this theory help you enhance effective virtual team communication?3) What are some things you learned about yourself when working virtually?

Assignment Prompt
Compose a comparative analysis that identifies similarities and/or difference between you and a person from I Am Malala. You may choose Malala Yousafzai or Ziauddin Yousafzai (Malala’s father).
For this essay, look closely at the example essays provided. You should compare and/or contrast multiple points. For example, if you choose Ziauddin, you may choose to discuss the similarities and differences between how you both raise your children, how you both believe in fighting for equality, and how you both have a special regard for your spouse. If you choose Malala, you may decide to write about the similarities and differences between how you both love your homeland, how you both have important relationships with parents who helped shape you, and how you both have difficult experiences you had to overcome.
Resist choosing Malala only if you are a woman or Ziauddin if you are a man. Select based on the one with which you would have the best points of comparison/contrast.
Assignment Criteria
This comparative analysis essay should be 550-650 words in length. It should be tightly organized. The essay should be in Times New Roman 12-point font and double-spaced. Format the document using MLA citation style; include in-text citations for quotes, paraphrases, and summaries;  and cite the book I Am Malala on the Works Cited page.

5- Excellent: A fully developed comparative analysis that distinctly identifies similarities and differences with a clear organizational structure. The position is fully supported with information from personal experience, the reading, and logical explanations. Correct quotes, paraphrases, and summaries are integrated seamlessly and include in-text citations. There are few if any errors in writing conventions and all assignment criteria are met.
4-Good: A developed comparative analysis that identifies similarities and differences with some organizational structure. The position is mostly supported with information from personal experience, the reading, and logical explanations. A noticeable attempt is made integrating at correct quotes, paraphrases, and summaries with in-text citations. There are some errors in writing conventions and all assignment criteria are met.
3-Adequate: A comparative analysis that identifies some similarities and differences, but they lack organization and clarity. The position is partially supported. There are a few attempts at quotes, paraphrases, and summaries with in-text citations. There are errors in writing conventions, but they do not hinder readability. Most assignment criteria are met.
2- Basic: Response without clear similarities and differences with little or no support. Few if any attempts at integrating sources or in-text citations. There are significant errors in writing conventions, and some hinder readability. Assignment criteria are not met.
1-Poor:  Response with no position or support. There are significant errors in writing conventions that hinder readability, and/or the response is very short.

An analytical essay is an essay that meticulously and methodically examines a single topic to draw conclusions or prove theories. Although they are used in many fields, analytical essays are often used with art and literature to break down works’ creative themes and explore their deeper meanings and symbolism.
Please write an Analytical Essay (2-3 pages) examining the symbolism in Caged Bird By: Maya Angelou. You can focus on any context or symbol. Use passages from the poem in your essay to solidify your points. Be sure to cite any scholarly sources in MLA format. A works cited page is required and 1-2 scholarly sources needs to back up the ideas put forth in your essay. Double spaced, size 12 font, Times New Roman, one-inch margins.
