“Comparing Career Opportunities and Quality of Life in Two States: A Look at the Economics, Culture, and Climate of California and Texas for a Future Respiratory Therapist”
My career is respiratory therapist the template is attached
During this week’s reading and Presentation for Points, you have learned about Comparison/Contrast writing. Now is the time to try it for yourself.
As a future graduate, you will need to make the decision upon what is best for you and your family, as far as career opportunities and where you want to make your home. Before beginning, have two places in mind that you might want to live (one may be your current state).
First, come up with three themes that you would want to consider before making a move, then research each of them for the two states you would consider. (One could be California or they could both be other states). It is up to you which themes you would choose to compare/contrast. You will likely want to look at the economics of the states, which may include things such as your career field’s average wage, the job market for that field, the cost of living in the state, etc.
Here are a few sites that you may wish to look at for financial information, but feel free to use other, instead or as well:
My Next Move
Rankings: Affordability – Cost of Living by State (usnews.com)
Here are some suggestions of other themes you might personally want to compare/contrast among the two states: extended family/friends, cultural opportunities available, professional sports teams, crime, climate (weather), politics, educational opportunities, housing, job opportunities for your spouse/children, etc. This resource will help you organize your writing.
Use the CARS checklist in the template to help you determine if a resource should be used for this paper. You will need to put 3 resources in a work’s cited page following APA format, as well as use in-text citations for any quoted or paraphrased facts. If you find your source to be reliable, take notes and add it to your APA formatted work’s cited page. Make sure to use in-text citations when you mention any facts quoted or put in your own words from each source. You will be making a Reference page and citing your sources (at least 3 sources should be used). Remember, if you have questions regarding the APA format, you may use the tutorial on the homepage, consult your text, ask your faculty, or refer to this page: APA Style Introduction – Purdue OWL® – Purdue University.
This remains a 4-5 paragraph writing, depending upon the pattern of organization you choose, and is completely doable. -
The Significance of Maternal Relationships in Toni Morrison’s “Sula”
I have to turn in a draft before 11:40pm tonight – if you could send me a draft that would be great.
THIS IS THE TOPIC I CHOCE:
TOPIC:
Contrast Nel’s relationship to her mother and Sula’s
interaction with her mother. Remember to take a position in your thesis that
establishes the significance of the contrast.
This is the thesis i wrote:
In the novel “Sula” by Toni Morrison,
the distinct differences in the relationships between Nel and her mother, as
well as Sula and hers, offer a profound investigation into the influence of
maternal figures on individual identity. By delving into the contrasting
dynamics of Nel’s traditional, supportive bond with her mother and Sula’s
unconventional, turbulent connection with hers, the narrative reveals how
maternal ties mold characters’ understandings of themselves, their communities,
and societal norms. This exploration underscores the intricate relationship
between mothers and daughters in shaping personal development and cultural
expectations.
I have to provide 2 citations,

“Uncovering the Contemporary Relevance of Bram Stoker’s Dracula: Exploring Themes of Fear, Otherness, and Transgression in the Context of Modern Issues”
The goal of this essay is to synthesize research into a relevant discussion connecting Bram Stoker’s Dracula to contemporary issues. This essay will allow us the chance to evaluate sources based on relevance, credibility, and value, and synthesize multiple researched sources into a coherent argument that uses evidence and analysis.
The Assignment
For this essay, we need to conduct individual research to a specific topic or idea in Dracula – such as fear of contagion (vampirism), alienation, the threat of otherness, the uncanny, transgression, science and superstition, etc. – to a contemporary issue, such as the pandemic, immigration, or the socioeconomic divide. What can Dracula teach us about our current problem and how we can deal with it?
The Research
This essay will require substantial research, which may include scholarly sources that specifically address themes in Dracula, historical research that puts the book in context, and research on contemporary issues. You must include cited information (quotation and paraphrase) from at least 5 sources + Dracula. Your research will involve both primary and secondary sources.
Primary Sources include original literary texts and works of art (novels, short stories, poetry, films, etc.), as well as any historical documents from the time period in which the work was created (letters, diary entries, news articles, etc.), and contemporary news articles.
Secondary Sources include scholarly books and articles about the literary work, historical information written after the time period in question, and any work that includes researched material in its writing.
Though some of your sources may be primary texts you are analyzing or other outside information, at least 3 of your sources must be scholarly sources accessed through the school’s library.
Assignment Requirements
Your essay should be 7-9 full double-spaced pages with 1” side margins, 1” header and footer margins, Times New Roman, 12 pt font.
Your introduction should include a thesis that gives your readers a main claim or guiding idea specific to your focus, which will be developed throughout.
Your essay must include direction quotations from your chosen contemporary text and should include summary where relevant. It must also include cited references (quotation and/or paraphrase) of at least 5 sources that you have found in your research, in addition to Dracula.
Cite all sources in MLA format (in text), in addition to a Works Cited page. Use Purdue OWL (linked on Canvas) to look up proper MLA in-text citations and Works Cited formatting. -

“Level Up Your Career: Join Our Game Design Team!”
For this assignment, I am required to design new recruiting materials for a game design company. All the instructions and tips are provided in the attached document, named “Project #3 (design and illustration material – assignment sheet – directions)”. For gathering ideas, please see the attached document called “sample design & illustration Material.” This project is based on Chapters 5 and 6 in the textbook that I have also attached here. I have chosen to include about 3 figures or tables, as it is required for this assignment, but please feel free to add as many as you need, and I will pay for the extra ones if required. I just randomly chose three, as I do not have any idea how many you will need for this project.

“The Great Debate: Universal Health Care and its Impact on Costs and Quality in the United States”
Health care costs in the United States are on the rise. Some people say that a universal health care system would bring costs down and increase access to care. Others say it would be too expensive and would reduce the quality of care. Complete an internet search for two editorials from both sides of the argument. An editorial is an opinion article written by a professional with an authority on the topic. Editorials can be written by a member of the publication’s editorial board or a professional from within the field. Look for reputable websites such as National Public Radio or The New England Journal of Medicine to conduct your research. Then, write a five-paragraph essay in which you compare and contrast each argument in terms of objectivity and the types of evidence presented. Evaluate and explain how the sources use effective evidence to support their claims. Cite the resources you used in your essay to avoid plagiarism.

Title: The Dark Side of Good Intentions: A Dystopian Future Shaped by Modern Ideals and Technology
The stories we have read present us with a grim dystopia that began with good intentions.
Very often these good intentions are accompanied by a technological leap or maybe just a widely held social/political belief or ideal.
I would like you to take a look at our modern socio-political ideals and our modern technology and imagine how any of them could go wrong.
Imagine for us the horribly shitty future of a world ruined by sweeping bandwagon ideals or invasive technologies.
Discuss how it was made possible (tech/ideas)
Discuss day-to-day problems in this future
Discuss some of larger issues with this future
Use modern research to support your hypothesis for the future
3 Sources, you may use one story as one of your three sources

The Cultural Significance of Marvel’s Black Panther: A Reflection of Race, Identity, and Power in Contemporary U.S. Society
Write a paper in which you discuss one Superhero, or Supervillain and its cultural significance. The significance you will explore is not why the character is important but what it signifies about U.S. Society. What trends, values, philosophies and attitudes of contemporary U.S. culture does the character you chose reflect? How does she/he/it do that? I encourage you to think of characters that fulfill the function and characteristics of a Super-character rather than a traditional superhero. Also, remember that you may NOT write about Superman, Batman, or The Green Lantern. In your essay you need to use 4-5 sources. You may use two from our textbook; the rest need to be outside texts.
You can go about this paper in different ways. One good way is to think of the Super-characters you’ve seen and that struck you as interesting. Why were they interesting? Which one was the most interesting, and why? How does this aspect of the character relate, in your opinion, to U.S. culture? Does it reflect, for example, consumerism, individualism, religion? It may reflect other, equally interesting facets of U.S. culture. When you have some ideas about what the movie reflects, start researching those things; look up articles on consumerism in U.S. society, for example. Write down your ideas and what you find in your research so you can keep track of yours and others’ ideas. Formulate a working thesis to guide your writing and your research. As always, talk to others: your friends, peers, family, me. -
