  • Title: The Impact of Mindfulness and Social Media on Adolescent Mental Health: A Literature Review

PLEASE DONT USE ANY AI TOOLS.   I already submitted the assignment but the professsor used an AI DETECTOR and gave me a zero for using chatGPT. attached was what i submitted.
this is the ASSIGNMENT DETAILS AS PER THE PROFESSOR:
    Unit 7 AS: Research Paper:
    Literature Review
“(A literature review) usually has an organizational pattern and combines both summary and synthesis. A summary is a recap of the important information of the source, but a synthesis is a re-organization, or a reshuffling, of that information. It might give a new interpretation of old material or combine new with old interpretations. Or it might trace the intellectual progression of the field, including major debates. And depending on the situation, the literature review may evaluate the sources and advise the reader on the most pertinent or relevant.” (UNC at Chapel Hill Writing Center)
The literature review establishes the major themes within your field that your (hypothetical) research project grows from. Using the resources you’ve found so far, the literature review for your research paper takes the individual resources and, through synthesis, identifies for your reader the common themes that can be identified between those resources, allowing your reader to gain an understanding of the foundation from which your research project grows without having to be an expert in the subject themselves.
Construct a 750-1,000 word (3-4 pages properly formatted) literature review using the resources you have found over the past few units (you may use the resources briefly discussed in your Introduction if you wish). Use the discussion and samples to help guide the structure of your literature review. You should use a total of at least six scholarly, peer-reviewed resources in your literature review, synthesizing resources based on common themes.
those are the resources im using:

Examine 2 toys in a toy aisle and discuss how they normalize “cultural beliefs.”
    Grading:
The final draft of this essay is worth 200 points. The rough draft is worth 20 points. This essay is NOT revisable for a better grade, so be sure to do your best the first time around. A successful assignment will have the following:
A strong introduction with a quality hook and a clear thesis that illustrates your main point
Clear topic sentences that tell the reader what to expect in each body paragraph
At least 1 body paragraph that analyzes the rhetoric the toys use in promoting the cultural belief(s)
At least 1 body paragraph that covers how the toy aisle’s design reinforces the cultural belief(s)
A minimum of 5 legitimate outside sources that are fluidly integrated into the essay
A conclusion that restates your thesis and provides an effective recap of the essay’s key ideas
An essay that is mostly free of distracting and confusing grammar errors

  • “Navigating Controversies in the Professional World: A Critical Analysis of Career-Related Issues”

Length: The final essay must be at least 6 full pages of writing (so make sure your essay goes onto a page 7 to be safe) using a 12-point Times New Roman font, standard margins and double spacing. It must have MLA formatted in-text citations throughout the essay and documenting your quotations, paraphrases, and summaries, as well as any references to sources that you analyze or critique. PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY GRAPHICS, CHARTS, TABLES, PHOTOS, OR OTHER INSERTS YOU MAY USE DO NOT COUNT AS PART OF YOUR PAGE COUNT.
The essay must also have a separate Works Cited page (which also does NOT count as part of your minimum 6 full pages of writing). The Works Cited must have a minimum of FIVE outside sources that you have referenced in the essay and that correspond to your in-text citations. Failure to have at least five sources will also cause the essay to fail. The entire essay and Works Cited must be MLA formatted. Do NOT use a different format like APA. USING A DIFFERENT FORMAT WILL CAUSE YOUR ESSAY TO FAIL.
ESSAYS THAT DO NOT MEET THESE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT EARN A PASSING GRADE.
Approach: You will argue a position concerning an issue that relates to your chosen profession (or, if you do not have a “chosen profession,” a career, field, or profession that interests you). Your research should come from credible sources. In your final essay, you will reference five outside sources to support your points.
You will begin by identifying specific career-related controversies in the field, and then you will choose one controversy to focus on for your essay; then, you will research the controversy, select relevant sources related to your topic, generate ideas, and develop a working thesis.
Your final essay should be detailed in terms of content, evidence, sources, and support. The topic should be tight and focused, and your position should be responsibly, persuasively, and credibly argued. As with any strong argument essay, you should:
    Begin with a focused introduction
Support your argument with a series of focused body paragraphs
Conclude with a focused conclusion in which you sum up your main points and emphasize the significance of your argument
Reference outside sources smoothly and effectively to illustrate points and to support claims
Demonstrate awareness of your rhetorical situation in terms of purpose and audience
    Address and respond to counterarguments
    Format the essay MLA style
Maintain an effective balance of ethos, pathos, and logos
Convey your points through professional academic writing
    Maintain crisp, clear prose
Ensure that your finished essay is free of errors
Your final essay should clearly state your position on the specific career-related controversy in the field, demonstrate your understanding of your sources’ arguments, and address and respond to them, presenting counterarguments when necessary. Each paragraph should have a clear a topic sentence and appropriate transitions to connect ideas.

    Brief Overview
Your final essay assignment is a 7-8 page literary analysis.
In a literary analysis that requires secondary sources, you are encouraged to be aware of and to engage with the range and diversity of critical interpretations and contexts which exist in relation to particular texts, authors, and genres. Although the basis of your essay will be your own analysis about the text that you are studying, your ideas will be enhanced if they are informed by an awareness of what others have thought and written about those texts.
In addition, reading and using literary criticism in your essay is one of the principal ways in which you can develop your own critical skills and interpretative abilities. Your competencies as a reader and critic will be bettered by reading and dialoguing with others that analyze and understand literature, and you will be better able to enter into literary discussion.
-A literary essay is a type of argumentative essay.
-You are being asked to explain how literary devices in a narrative create specific effects and convey ideas.
-Although you might notice numerous interesting details as you read, not all of those details will help you to organize a focused argument about the text.
-When you close read for a thesis, you will need to be selective about what you choose to consider in your essay. In the case of a novel, you might analyze a repeated scene, image, or object (for example, scenes of train travel, images of decay, or objects such as typewriters).
    Essay Requirements:
minimum 7-8 page literary analysis of ONE literary text from our class (poem, short story, novel)—you cannot focus on multiple novels in the essay, and you will lose points if you turn in anything less than 6.75 pages of your own writing. The Works Cited page does not count towards your page number.
MLA formatting with in-text citations and a Works Cited page
A thesis statement towards the end of the introduction that cites how one motif of the novel/short story/poem bolsters one theme. Review the lectures on theme and motif and thesis statements for more information.
Three peer-reviewed secondary sources that touch upon either theory, literary criticism, or historical/cultural contexts.
Excellent form and structure, such as strong paragraph organization with a solid topic sentence, direct evidence from the text, and analysis. Review the “Writing Resources” module for more.
Submitted on Canvas as a single PDF or Microsoft word doc (no hard copy)
Your short essay may be revised into your final essay. However, this privilege does come with a caveat: you can’t simply “add paragraphs” to your short essay to convert it to a final essay. Because this is a research essay and a longer assignment, you will have to: find secondary sources and weave research into your paragraphs; add paragraphs in the beginning, middle, and end of the essay; and revise and expand your final essay based on the feedback I gave you in the first essay. For example, if your topic sentences needed editing in the short essay, you need to edit all of them and work on the new topic sentences in your new body paragraphs.
    Tips
You’re looking at both what the text says (its content) and how the text says what it says through imagery, figurative language, motif, and so on. If you don’t refer to a literary term in your thesis—imagery, setting, metaphor, symbol, genre, etc.—you are not making an argument about language and its effects.
Your essay should be composed mostly of evidence as direct quotes and analysis with limited plot summary. Essays whose body paragraphs are mainly composed of general summary do not meet the requirements of this assignment and will immediately drop a letter grade or more.
Any historical/cultural context provided needs to be supported with an in-text citation of a secondary source.
Essay prompts below are NOT meant to serve as a thesis–prompts are meant to inspire a line of inquiry that you then use to craft a thesis.
    Review the sample essays.
I welcome any and all topics appropriate to the texts, whether that be investigations of setting, character, class, genre, race/ethnicity, gender/sexuality, unique literary tropes, rhetoric, etc.
    What to Avoid
Avoid author biographies: while looking at the way a text reflects the life of the author is a valid type of literary interpretation, please keep biography background to a minimum for this essay. We are focusing on writing about literature and literary techniques.
Show rather than tell: showing what the text says with a direct quotation is always more powerful than telling the reader what the text says through summaries. Mixing your words with a potent phrase from a text is a strategic way to do this without needing to quote full passages. For example: The titular Snow Man of Wallace Stevens’ poem is described as having “the mind of winter” and having “been cold for a long time.”
Using quotations from the text without interacting with them: if you quote a sentence or two from a text as evidence, make sure to talk about what it says for at least 2-3 sentences of analysis.
Being overly general: Avoid thesis statements that could be said about any number of texts, such as: “This story discusses gender roles,” and “This poem is about the cruelty of war.” This broad of a thesis statement indicates that you aren’t paying close enough attention to your particular text’s language and need to narrow your argument. Paying attention to the specific details of a text also gives you things to say and tends to make for a more interesting essay.
    Essay Prompts
    1) Setting is an important component of any story. Choose one repeated detail of the setting–a geographic place (the beach, for example), a built structure (a house), a force of the weather, a color that dominates the story setting–and analyze its integral role in the narrative. How is this detail of the setting integral to the story? Does the protagonist conflict with the setting or have particular interactions with the setting? How does the protagonist’s relationship with the setting connect with his/her development as a character? How does the setting give structure to (or bolster) a theme?
    2) In many stories, characters come into conflict with the culture in which they live. Often, a character feels alienated in his/her community or society due to bias against race, gender, class, or ethnic background. How does the author–using rhetoric, symbols, motifs, actions and dialogue–represent a character as alienated from community in the story? And likewise, how does the author represent the character responding to society? What does that character’s alienation say about the surrounding society’s assumptions, morality and values? In what way(s)do literary elements reflect how that society defines race, gender, class and/or ethnicity? How does this create conflict for the character?
    3) A character’s nostalgia for the past (or attempt to recapture the past) is a recurring device in plays, novels, short stories, and poems. Choose a character who views the past with such feelings as reverence, bitterness, or longing in one of our course texts. Show with clear evidence from the text–using quotes, symbols, objects, etc–to show how the character’s view of the past or nostalgia for a past event is a motif used to develop a theme.
    4) The meaning of literary works is often enhanced by sustained allusion to myths, the Bible, or other works of literature. (Intertextuality is the shaping of a text’s meaning by another text.) Select a literary work that makes use of such a sustained reference. Then write a well-organized essay in which you explain the allusion that predominates in the work and analyze how the allusions function as a motif that gives structure to a particular theme.
    5) In literature, no scene of violence exists for its own sake. Choose one of the course texts that confronts the reader with repeated scenes of violence and explain how the violence is a motif that constructs a particular theme unique to the story. In a well-organized essay, explain how the particular scenes of violence contribute to the meaning of the overall work. Avoid plot summary.
    6) Some works of literature use the element of time in a distinct way. The chronological sequence of events may be altered or time may be suspended or accelerated in the tale. Choose a novel, short story, etc. and show how the author’s manipulation of time throughout the story contributes to and bolsters a theme. Do not merely summarize the plot.
    7) Choose a course text that depicts a conflict between a parent (or a parental figure) and a son or daughter. Write an essay in which you analyze the representation of the parent-child relationship and its conflicts through the author’s choice of dialogue, actions, symbols, etc. Explain how the parent-child conflict propels the plot and bolsters a particular theme of the story. Avoid plot summary.
    8) Many plays and novels use contrasting places (for example, two countries, two cities or towns, two houses, or the land and the sea) to represent opposing forces or ideas that are central to the meaning of the work. Choose a course text that contrasts two such places. Write an essay explaining how the places differ, what each place represents in the story, and how their contrast functions as a motif that bolsters a particular theme of the text.
    9) In some works of literature, a character who appears briefly, or does not appear at all, is a significant presence. Choose a course text and write an essay in which you show how such a character functions in the work, using direct quotes, symbols, and more from the text. Also, discuss how this kind of character’s presence affects the action, theme, or the development of other characters. Avoid plot summary.
    10) Novels and plays often include scenes of important social occasions, such as weddings, funerals, parties, to structure its plot. (The older film called Four Weddings and a Funeral comes to mind.) Such significant events reveal the values of the characters and the society in which they live. Select a course text that includes two or more of such an event and, in a focused essay, discuss how the events give structure to a theme of the text.
    11) Novels and plays often depict characters caught between colliding cultures — national, regional, ethnic, religious, institutional. Such collisions can call a character’s sense of identity into question. Select a course text in which a character responds to such a cultural collision. Then write a well-organized essay in which you describe how the author depicts two colliding cultures and the character’s response through the use of symbols, dialogue, setting, etc.
    12) In many works of literature, a physical journey – the literal movement from one place to another or even casual walking – plays a central role. Choose a course text in which a physical journey or even movement (such as walking, driving, etc.) is an important element and discuss how the journey gives structure to a unique theme of the work. Avoid plot summary.

  • “The Queen of Gold: A Tale of Deception and Fortune in Old Hyderabad” “The King of Gold: A Tale of Deception and Redemption”

Compose a piece of writing in the short story (fiction) genre that draws the reader in and maintains his/her/their interest while concentrating on your use of the elements and techniques of short story and your growth as a writer.
    Format
Your story should be approximately 4-10 pages in length (double-spaced text in a size 11 or 12-point font). It should include a heading at the top left of page 1, a creative title, and numbered pages.
    Required Elements
Your short story must contain evidence of the incorporation of the following literary elements:
PLOT Most short stories follow a traditional structure of initial
incident, rise of action, climax, denouement and resolution. ]
CONFLICT Person vs. person/society/nature/self/fate. Conflict should be
evident. You MUST have some kind of conflict! More than one conflict is okay, but no conflict is not okay. Readers should be able to identify the protagonist and antagonist of the piece.
SETTING Time, place, culture, weather, etc. should be clearly identified
and adequately detailed as it pertains to the story. There should be a clear “sense of place.”
CHARACTERS The extent to which your characters are defined or developed in
your story depends on what purpose they serve in your story. Use enough description and voice so that readers can distinguish between characters and understand them. Balance character development with action.
THEME Your story should ultimately be a reflection on some issue or
idea that you’ve given some thought to prior to and while writing. Do not confuse  theme with “moral” or “purpose.” You do not have to have a moral to your story.
POINT OF VIEW The story must be told from a clear and justifiable point of view
(1st, 2nd, 3rd limited or 3rd omniscient). Shifts in point of view should be limited if used at all.
STYLE What is the tone of your writing?
The opening sentences/paragraph should draw the reader in, and the closer should satisfy.
Dialogue, if used, should add to the creation and development of character and further serve the story’s plot without substituting for action or narrative.
Writing conventions should be controlled and accurate.
Write me a short story about a young orphan boy in the old city of Hyderabad, India who lives at the mosque. He would go to the quietest street in the loudest bazaar in the city of old Hyderabad to stand in the crowds and listen to Ali bhai, the old man who told his tales. Ali bhai was the best storyteller in all of Hyderabad and his stories captivated everyone. Ali bhai never told the same story twice but he swore that all of them were true. He once told the story of a bharatnatyam dancer who became known as the queen of gold by dancing for the maharaja. The dancer enchanted him so he would give her piles of gold. At night she would cover herself from head to toe in a burqa and secretly go into the trading and merchant center of the city to conduct her business. It was illegal for women to have their own businesses so she had to find someone she could use to create a business under. That was when she met Ali bhai’s great great grandfather who decided to help her but he didn’t know that the dancer would turn out to be evil. She poisoned the maharaja’s mistress so that only she remained. He was so bewitched by her that he married the dancer despite her not being of noble blood. She quickly gained infamy and  the maharaja would build enchanting and beautiful marvels of architecture and give lavish gifts to his new wife. One day she vanished, so the maharaja did everything he could to find her but couldn’t so he grew insane and took his own life. Ali bhai ends his story by saying that the dancer was actually a jinn and the day she disappeared she entrusted her gold business to alli bhai’s great great grandfather who inherited her gold businesses. and that when she was at the height of her prime she sold so much gold that it still circulates the markets to this day and those who buy her gold will be blessed with overwhelming wealth.
In reality Ali bhai is a lying spindler who wants people to buy his gold but the little boy is captivated by Ali bhai’s tales so he vows to grow up and be able to buy the gold. Boy gets fooled by the old man. The little boy grows up and becomes a successful businessman and comes back to old Hyderabad to see that the city is not as bustling as it used to be and confronts the old man of being a spindler, fraud, and just wants people to buy his gold. The Old man vanishes like the jinn in his story leaving behind a gold bangle. The little boy who is now grown up, takes the bangle and returns the old town to its former glory and he is labeled as the king of gold.

is ecofeminism and moana related to post-colonial issues/race?
    And then a conclusion.
Please make the project 2000 words but add the bibliography at the end which is not included in the word count.
Need to reference three academic sources and some non-academic- (HAVARD STYLE AND INCLUDE IN A BIBLIOGRAPHY AT THE END OF THE ESSAY FOR ALL SOURCES .)
academic source to reference in question 1 is-Françoise
d’Eaubonne book ‘feminism or death’ . reference the fact she coined the term ecofeminism in 1974, what it means.
And then find another academic source that is more recent that gives another definition of ecofeminism.
also for question 1 reference this- Moana (2016):
Negotiating Patriarchy from the Ecofeminist Perspective Pattarapong Kongwattana.
then for the non- academic sources to reference when explaining how the film moana is ecofeminist- picture of mount te fiti as a woman.
Reference for question 2- Please find me an academic source to help with childrens animation helping with their understanding of ecofeminism, or if it does not help.
reference for question 3- Find an academic source that taps in to the representation of moana for indigenous peoples to further research the post-colonial issues in this film and relate this back to ecofeminism and post-colonial issues.

    question 1
    Eco-feminism-
French writer Françoise d’Eaubonne coined the term
ecofeminism in 1974. In her book Feminism or Death,
D’Eaubonne argued that with the planet in women’s hands, everyone will
thrive. And in moana, with her country in her hands, everyone does thrive
as she saves her country and her people.
    Ecofeminism
suggests that the patriarchy is the driving source behind the degradation of
the planet and exploitation of women — issues that are inextricably linked and
cannot be resolved without dismantling oppressive masculine power
systems. Moanas dad, a man, was the driving source behind the dedregation
of their country and exploited moana because he wouldn’t let her be near the
water, and did not trust her to explore to try and save nature. This could be
because she was a woman, and could not be trusted as much as a man maybe for
not being as strong or emotionally capable, as it is most likely if moanas
character was a boy, that he would be allowed to venture out in to the unknown.
    This
is why it is so important to notice that the person cheering moana on, telling
her to be at one with nature, to help it, and shows her that nature is on her
side and not a threat to her is a woman, her grandmother. This highlights how
    important unity is amongst women
    Moana
is safe-guarding her planet through the help and encouragement of another
woman, proving to children that women can make a difference without the help
    and dominance of a man.
ecofeminism hasn’t been without criticism and pushback
throughout the years, with some rejecting the
movement’s centering on white feminism and a lack of inclusivity.
Now there’s a renewed effort to
reclaim the term and affirm the role of women of color in leading the charge as
the threat of climate change intensifies.
    “Ecofeminism addresses the extractive male-dominated
system in which profits are prioritized over safeguarding the planet,” Palmer
said. “It advocates for caring for our natural world, connecting with it, and
building a relationship with nature. This is an essential approach to saving
our woodlands, and biodiversity across the world.”
Palmer wants to see communities of color more
    represented in decision-making spaces.
    Ecofeminism
offers a framework to promote the empowerment of women
    “I
consider ecofeminism not as a movement that comes and goes, but as an ideology
that must be adopted to give back the rights to women and to allow them to
stand up openly for nature and their survival,”
    “Ecofeminism
addresses the extractive male-dominated system in which profits are prioritized
over safeguarding the planet,” Palmer said.
    “Ecofeminism
addresses the extractive male-dominated system in which profits are prioritized
over safeguarding the planet,” Palmer said.
“I see it as a responsibility, and I think everyone
should also see it as a responsibility, that we protect the planet that houses
us to carry the weight and not to depreciate or further exploit,” she said.
    GAIA
    THEORY
Q2- WHAT ECO OR JUST  MESSAGES TO CHILDREN ARE THERE, HOW IS IT
    EDUCATING?
    Men
shouldn’t be excluded from ecofeminism. This film is for kids, and if it gives
the impression that men cannot be involved it will create gender inequality
towards men in young kids and that is not what you want to teach children.
The man in moana who helps her, the guy by her side is
a character added to make sure the feminism is not coming on too strong, as
that would discriminate men, and would be putting a bad light on what rights
feminists fight for. This character is added to help unity and show that men
should help women as much as they can to help women with the inequalties they
face. This point is backed up by this quote-
    “Any
person who fights for the protection of the environment by seamlessly
integrating the instrumental role of women can be qualified as an ecofeminist.”
    -shows
children that men can be feminists/ eco feminists too, the guy who is helping
    moana.
    This
film is trying to spread the message across that men can protect the rights of
women and nature and it is seen as heroic.
A strong message to kids- “Everyone is welcome in the
movement to see that we have a world that protects the rights of women and
girls, to try to see how we can all develop without any form of violence.”

    “Everyone
is welcome in the movement to see that we have a world that protects the rights
    of women and girls”
    Educates
children on different cultures and people from polynesian islands so they grow
up with more knowledge that people live different lives, having exposure to
this at a young age prevents prejudices.
    question 3.
French feminist Françoise d’Eaubonne stated that the disenfranchisement and oppression of
women, people of colour, and the poor are intrinsically linked to the
degradation of the natural world, as both arose as a result of patriarchal
    dominance.
    Moana
is a person of colour from the polynesian islands. The polynesian islands holds
so much history meaning the islands dealt with many post colonial issues (
which includes the struggle of race, emigration, childhood, loss of power and
loss of culture. Polynesian cultures have
been radically altered by Western colonialism. One of the
largest issues critics have with “Moana,” they said, is that it
perpetuates the stereotypical image of the Pacific as an exotic tropical
getaway. They argue that it continues American colonialism of the region. “In
Hawaii, the impact of the American occupation is something nobody wants to see.
    Ecofeminism
is related to issues of race as many ecofeminists  want to see communities of colour more
represented in decision-making spaces as it
offers a framework to promote the empowerment of women. Especially women
    of colour who have…
    A
postcolonial ecofeminist perspective would involve the coming together of
postcolonial ecocriticism and ecofeminism into one analytical focus, where it
would be necessary to recognize that the exploitation of nature and the
oppression of women are intimately bound up with notions of, race.
Postcolonial and feminist theorists state that women are oppressed by both patriarchy and the
    colonial power
    there
is a connection in how one treats women and the environment and all feminized
    and naturalized entities.
    To
explain the women–nature relationship, especially in the polynesian context, it
is important to consider the material realities of women (and men) that are
directly related to their status as members of post/neocolonial societies.
    The
movie was criticised as having represented multiple ethnic groups as one
    culture.
    Another
argument raised is the perpetuation of the Pacific as “an exotic getaway”,
serving to ignore the after-effects of colonialism and American occupation
which brought poverty, illness, and high rates of incarceration — a part of
their history considered just as important and impactful as the story of the
    voyagers.
    In
another article, this was described as a ‘wilful ignorance’ on the part of the
writers and the movie of colonial and post-colonial situations in Polynesia
which include settler colonialism, genocide, and also ‘environmental
destruction caused by militarism, climate change, and corporate industries like
    tourism, fishing, logging, and agriculture.’
    Thus,
Moana began to be viewed as a Westernized retelling of an ancient and honoured
story and attacked with “charges of distasteful representation, cultural
appropriation, and crass commercialization of Islander culture and tradition”.
Native tribes take a stand at Standing Rock against fossil
fuel development and oppression of indigenous peoples, Moana is also a movie metaphor about indigenous rights.
Moana also expresses the revival of
traditional Polynesian seafaring methods that was launched in the 1970s by the
Hawaiian voyaging canoe Hokule’a. This movement proved that ancient Polynesians
purposefully and scientifically sailed to and settled islands across the vast
stretches of the Pacific by using the stars, ocean currents, winds, etc., to
chart their courses. This systematic wayfinding technique gave the lie to the
racist canard that Pacific Islanders were not intelligent enough to have
crossed the ocean by design and had only discovered their far-flung islands
randomly and by chance. The 1970s’ resurgence of traditional Oceanic voyaging
contributed to a Pacific Renaissance of culture that inspired ethnic pride
among colonized peoples at Hawaii, Tahiti and beyond, and Moana taps into this proud legacy.
