Final Paper 10 page paper in APA format, based on your presentation. This paper is a means of cummulating and utilizing skills learned in the program. Identifying your niche/type of field within license and modality. Assignment Description
Each analysis will be based on a feature length film that highlights the theories and concepts we are learning in our course. Each film is related to a particular stage of development and must be viewed during the time we are studying that stage.
You will likely need to view the film you choose to analyze more than once in order to most accurately cite content. With this in mind, you should be prepared to rent or borrow videos either through an online source or from a library or video rental source. The instructor will provide free sources when possible, but these may not always be available.
You will be responsible for watching ALL of the films on your own (for homework) but you will only need to analyze ONE film (of your choice) for the analysis assignment. Do you think Dr. Cherlin’s assertion that remarried/stepfamilies are an “incomplete institution” because they lack social scripts that would assist the family in coming together and assuming roles and responsibilities is still relevant and carries a measure of truth even decades after he made this observation and why?
As you read over the chapter and review relevant course materials, underscore and discuss some of the main issues or challenges that stood out to you concerning stepfamily dynamics.
When the chapter addressed stereotypes and stigmas, what is your perspective–what do you think shapes our views of step-families?
