Who/what are they loyal to and how does this help explain the central conflict in the play? How does gender play a role in the action that unfolds?

    2. Compare Pericles’ vision of Athenian values from the Funeral Oration with the ways in which Athens acts over the course of the war. In what ways do the Athenians fail to live up to their values? Make sure to discuss how we see this in each of the following: the Mytilenean debate, the Melian Dialogue, and the Sicilian Expedition.

    Provide a comparison of the ways each source tells the person’s story.
    Summarize what details both sources include.
    Describe what notable details are left out of either source.
    Explain the impact of bias in each source.
    Describe how an artifact you will select for your exhibit relates to the perspective of this individual.
    What to Submit
    Submit your short paper as a 3- to-4-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, and one-inch margins. Sources should be cited according to APA Style.
