  • Title: “A Visual Journey through Two Masterpieces: Comparing and Contrasting Works of Art from Different Chapters”

Choose two paintings, sculptures, or works of architecture (buildings, bridges, etc.) from the chapters listed above. Both works of art may be from the same chapter, or you may choose works from different chapters. Likewise, both works of art may be of the same type, such as two paintings, or you may choose different types of works.
Tell us the following about each work of art.
What do you see? Tell us about the image, colors, materials, and size of the work of art. Imagine you are explaining it to someone who can’t see it. Provide a word picture. Look at it really closely for details that the casual viewer might miss.
How does this particular work of art compare to others in the same chapter or elsewhere in the book? If there are other works by the same artist in the book, what is unique about this particular work of art?
Wonder and awe. What makes this work of art amazing? What does it make you think about? What unanswered questions do you have?
Create a 4- to 5-minute narrated slide show, consisting of between four to five slides. A possible organization idea is the title slide, two to three body slides, and a conclusion.
Don’t do any outside research for this presentation. Any insights from the textbook should be acknowledged in your narration. Example: “As was noted on page 93 of our textbook….”
Because the slide show will be narrated, very little text is needed for the slides. Aim for 20 words or fewer per slide. Instead, let the visual depictions of the works of art take center stage.

As I stated in week one, I am a garbage truck driver for Waste Management. The largest garbage company in the world, and we as a whole are driven on being safe at all times. If we see something unsafe we are required to speak up and say something. We hold each other accountable about doing everything safely so something doesn’t happen to us, or someone else. Unfortunately we learn from others mistakes and accidents, and we here the tragic stories of drivers or pedestrians getting in an accident, or worse getting killed.
One of the best ways Waste Management shows their commitment to being safe and taking care of their drivers, and the innocent pedestrians around us is we truly talk about safety every single day, but every Wednesday morning there is a safety video of a topic chosen by corporate. Waste Management takes it so seriously we have a company wide competition for the safest location in the world usually meaning our management team would either get something catered for us to eat, or corporate would come down and pay for a nice dinner. It is a chance to teach the drivers, or remind them of skills, or things we need to make aware of while on route. Especially because it is easy to get complacent.  Work safety videos can influence cultural or social ideas by making the situations we hear about or learn about relatable. We are constantly on the road in a huge truck and we always joke that we are invisible to everyone except kids and dogs. When it comes to people allowing us to make the turns or the stops we signal to do so, most of the time they will automatically try to go around us. Usually an illegal way like we are in the left turn lane and apparently are not fast enough, some people will either go into on coming traffic to try and get around or make the lane that is designed to go straight their second turn lane and get around that way. In conclusion, these safety videos keep us on our toes and remind us to always keep our head on a swivel. It’s not to just prevent it from happening, but that when it happens and it will to be ready for it.
    Thanks
    Jake

  • Leveraging Data for Effective Talent Management: A Case Study Analysis of Agoda’s People Analytics and Business Culture Analyzing the Success of Airbnb’s Business Model Title: “Airbnb: A Disruptive Business Model Revolutionizing the Hospitality Industry”

    Overview
C-Suite leaders rely on data to drive decisions. However, many HR professionals come from “non-quant” backgrounds that leave them feeling less than confident when it comes to understanding the numbers and using data to evaluate and communicate critical HR initiatives. Like it or not, having a seat at the table requires that you can speak with data.
The good news is that you do not need to be a financial or data analytics expert. You do, however, need to be able to ask the right questions when the numbers are put in front of you and you need to be able to identify the trends and patterns to successfully manage talent. If you cannot do this, there is a strong possibility you will not be a part of “real” business conversations.
This assignment presents you with an opportunity to explore how data can be used to make more effective talent-management decisions. By developing these skills, you will be better equipped to challenge assumptions and to create effective hiring and compensation models. Since we can never have complete data, our decision-making process must acknowledge what we know and what we don’t know. Even with incomplete data, however, our actions must be reasonable, given the time frame and resources we have. Additionally, any actions we recommend must include a clear understanding of how success will be measured, so as to indicate the anticipated return on investment (ROI).
    Instructions
For this assignment, you will write a paper based on the case study, Agoda: People Analytics and Business Culture. In your paper, you will analyze the data and provide a recommendation for action. Your paper must address the following topics: the challenges and opportunities; the data that is known and unknown; the culture of the organization; and how data can be leveraged to support a plan of action.
Use the outline below to organize your paper:
    1. Executive Summary
An executive summary is a brief synopsis of a paper or report. It is a helpful tool that allows readers to get a snapshot of what will be discussed in the paper. Your Executive Summary should not include detailed information, but simply present an overview of your position.
    2. Data and Culture
What are the data collection/analysis tools being considered in the case?
How might they improve the way talent is managed?
What drawbacks or dangers are presented?
How might the need for transparency and actionable data create a negative environment? What are some unintended consequences the data might lead to? Think in particular about the need for privacy.
    3. Data Analysis
What does the data in Exhibit 2 tell us? Which team has the highest correlation between performance and compensation? Explain.
What does the data in Exhibit 3 tell us about where we may want to focus our personnel development efforts? Explain.
What other insights could be helpful to Agoda that are not addressed in the case?
What data would you need to identify these insights?
How could this data be collected in an accurate and cost-effective way?
    4. Recommendation
What are Allen’s key issues going forward?
What role does Agoda’s culture play in each of these issues?
What previous findings or experiences related to these issues are conveyed in the case?
What advice would you offer him?
How will the success of the recommendations be assessed? Be specific about:
What cost assumptions need to be included?
    How should ROI be measured?
Summarize the main steps of your action plan to support your recommendation to Allen.
    Submission Requirements
Uses a double-spaced, professional font (Times New Roman or Arial), 10-12 font size, with one-inch margins on all sides
Includes a Cover Page with the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, course title, and date
Headings are used to identify main topics and subtopics
The assignment is written in a formal manner, with correct spelling and grammar
References are included and provide appropriate information that enables the reader to locate the original source

  • “Performance Improvement Plan for Frank Bristol at Geneva Software Company” Performance Improvement Plan for Frank Bristol at Geneva Software Company Introduction Geneva Software Company is a leading provider of software solutions for high-volume parcel shipping. The company’s sales process involves a long

    Performance Improvement Plan
Geneva Software company sells software as a solution to
customers that have high volumes of parcel shipping. The software requires a
long selling cycle as the salespeople have to collect tracking numbers,
shipment weights, and volume for several months before they can be sure that
the software is a fit for the client.
Last year, your employee, Frank Bristol had the highest
volume of new sales. He led the division and the customer for onboarded
customers and high-margin contracts. At the division sales awards, he received
a crystal trophy and a trip for his family to Hawaii. Now, in the first
quarter, a lot of his deals are starting to fall apart. The VP of Account
Managers contacts you because the customers are not saving money and he feels
that Frank is not being truthful in the sales process and not gathering all the
data he needs before signing contracts. His team of Account Managers is
frustrated and mad. They refuse to help Frank close any more deals. A week
later, The VP of Information Technology forwards you three emails from
programmers. Each email was from Frank to the programmers asking them to write
unique software code for his customers so that he can “deliver what he
promised.”  Finally, the CFO emails you a
list of delinquent customer accounts. You notice about 65% of them are Frank’s
    new customers.
Prepare a performance improvement plan for Frank.
In the plan, make sure to address all concerns noted above
and a plan to further investigate them.
Discuss the questions you would ask Frank and which
motivational theory you would use to motivate him to continue to be a high
performer but also do things the right way.
Include in your discussion possible interventions for Frank
and the ramifications if he does not comply.
You should conclude the paper by developing three SMART
    goals for Frank.
Your paper should be 2-3 pages in length and conform to APA
guidelines. Include at least 4 scholarly
