General Instructions: 
For this assignment, you will create a writing activity that is submitted. Writing in Spanish for the flyer. You will have the opportunity through this activity to formulate cohesive sentences and paragraphs. Each writing activity includes creating a one-page flyer/poster. Stay away from future tense and focus on the words in the pictures provided. Each writing activity will target the chapter vocabulary and grammar structures labeled, “Estructura’s,” in the pictures provided. 
Creating a Flyer/Poster in which you create a tourism advertisement for your New York City. Identify important sites in NYC. Describe NYC in basic Spanish. Describe the transportation system of NYC in basic Spanish and the words provided in the pictures. Your poster/flyer should be between 15 and 20 sentences. 
Mistakes are expected! Especially in the first flyer (rough draft flyer)

1st assignment
More specifically, students will be required to submit a written assignment (3,000 words) about the basic concepts of linguistics, language levels, language
development and language acquisition and learning, showing understanding of examples from Greek and English
Below follows the suggested structure you should follow in order to complete an assignment:
 Introduction: describe briefly the content and the objectives of your assignment as well as the basic characteristics of language and linguistics) (up to 300
words)
 Levels of linguistics analysis (approximately 1000 words)
– describe phonetics
 -describe segmental and suprasegmental phonology along with systemic and structural simplifying phonological processes.
 -describe morphology
– describe syntax

 – describe semantics
– describe pragmatics
 Language Development (approximately 600 words)
 describe the main milestones in the development of morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics
 Language Acquisition (approximately 1000 words)
 – analyze and compare at least two theories on first language acquisition
 Conclusions (up to 100 words)
Most importantly, in order for you to write the report, you should use your academic writing skills effectively and follow APA referencing style guidelines
appropriately.

An essay (2,000 words, weighting: 100%) including two parts. More specifically, in part 1, you are
required to describe the mechanism of voice production, the acoustic features of the English vowels
and stops along with the role of categorical sound perception, selective attention and phonetic
knowledge in auditory perception. In part 2 of the essay, you are required to describe one theory of
cognitive development of your choice along with the factors affecting it and the development of
memory and attention and their role in language learning (100%).

ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES
You are required to prepare a Portfolio, including two parts.
In Part 1, you will describe online, distance and group teaching in Greece, in children
and in adults in TEFL.
In Part 2, you will have to discuss two case studies regarding: a) teaching vocabulary
to preschool children (4-5) and providing feedback, and b) teaching grammar to
young learners (ages 6-8) and methods of providing feedback.
