  • Title: Organizing and Displaying Data on Injuries and Waiting Times in a Clinic Setting For the first data set on injuries seen in a clinic in a month’s time, the key information to be represented would be the type of injury,

Suppose that you have two sets of data to work with. The first set is a list of all the injuries that were seen in a clinic in a month’s time. The second set contains data on the number of minutes that each patient spent in the waiting room of a doctor’s office. You can make assumptions about other information or variables that are included in each data set.
For each data set, propose your idea of how best to represent the key information. To organize your data would you choose to use a frequency table, a cumulative frequency table, or a relative frequency table? Why?
What type of graph would you use to display the organized data from each frequency distribution? What would be shown on each of the axes for each graph?
APA format for in-text citation and list of references.
    Graph pictures are expected.

  • “Exploring Probability: Sharing Birthdays in a Classroom”

Purpose: The purpose of this discussion is to demonstrate your understanding of basic probability.
Post: On a piece of paper, dry erase board or video if that is easier for you, work out this question. Given 30 students in a classroom, what is the probability that at least 2 people in the room share the same birthday? When you are finished, share your work with us and give us your birthday, month and date only.  Let’s see if anyone shares a birthday in this class. You can submit your birthday with your post.
    My birthday is aug 5

  • “Exploring the Relationship Between Property Size and Listing Price in the Real Estate Market: A Data Analysis for D.M. Pan Real Estate Company”

Scenario Smart businesses in all industries use data to provide an intuitive analysis of how they can get a competitive advantage. The real estate industry heavily uses linear regression to estimate home prices, as cost of housing is currently the largest expense for most families. Additionally, in order to help new homeowners and home sellers with important decisions, real estate professionals need to go beyond showing property inventory. They need to be well versed in the relationship between price, square footage, build year, location, and so many other factors that can help predict the business environment and provide the best advice to their clients. Prompt You have been recently hired as a junior analyst by D.M. Pan Real Estate Company. The sales team has tasked you with preparing a report that examines the relationship between the selling price of properties and their size in square feet. You have been provided with a Real Estate Data Spreadsheet spreadsheet that includes properties sold nationwide in recent years. The team has asked you to select a region, complete an initial analysis, and provide the report to the team. Note: In the report you prepare for the sales team, the response variable (y) should be the listing price and the predictor variable (x) should be the square feet. Specifically you must address the following rubric criteria, using the Module Two Assignment Template: Generate a Representative Sample of the Data Select a region and generate a simple random sample of 30 from the data. Report the mean, median, and standard deviation of the listing price and the square foot variables. Analyze Your Sample Discuss how the regional sample created is or is not reflective of the national market. Compare and contrast your sample with the population using the National Summary Statistics and Graphs Real Estate Data PDF document. Explain how you have made sure that the sample is random. Explain your methods to get a truly random sample. Generate Scatterplot Create a scatterplot of the x and y variables noted above. Include a trend line and the regression equation. Label the axes. Observe patterns Answer the following questions based on the scatterplot: Define x and y. Which variable is useful for making predictions? Is there an association between x and y? Describe the association you see in the scatter plot. What do you see as the shape (linear or nonlinear)? If you had a 1,800 square foot house, based on the regression equation in the graph, what price would you choose to list at? Do you see any potential outliers in the scatterplot? Why do you think the outliers appeared in the scatterplot you generated? What do they represent?

  • Title: Using Technology to Enhance Understanding of Calculus Concepts: A Reflection on Lab Problem Solving

You need to use the app GeoGebra Edition 6 or Maple. Select a problem from the sample exam. Click here or copy/paste link below.
ˆ Create a file on Geogebra or Maple that solves the selected problem.
ˆ Make sure that you attach the Geogebra or Maple file to your submission.
ˆ Enter a written explanation into your Blackboard submission fully explaining the problem you chose and your solution.
ˆ Your explanation must fully detail the solution and explain what you did.
ˆ More detail and explanation means more points.

    2. In this problem, you will select one Lab problem that you completed in this class that helped you to better understand a topic in your Calculus lecture. You will explain how (in detail) using technology to address this content was helpful to you.
ˆ Review your lab assignments and select one problem that you solved.
ˆ Attach the solution file (Geogebra or Maple) to your Blackboard submission.
ˆ Enter a written explanation into your Blackboard submission.
ˆ Make sure to identify the Lab and problem number of the problem you chose.
ˆ Fully explain how the technology helped you to better understand the problem and the Calculus content.
ˆ Why was doing the problem using Geogebra or Maple helpful? What more did you understand? What more were you able to take away by doing the exercise using technology?
ˆ More detail and explanation means more points.

  • “Lessons Learned: Reflections on My Applied Calculus Class and Tips for Future Success”

    This class is applied calculus
What do you wish you had known about the course before you started? Think perhaps in terms of content, difficulty, workload, asynchronous format etc. How might you approach your next math class, if applicable, so that you are more prepared at its start?
What topics were especially challenging? What did you do to overcome the challenge? How does this experience prepare you to face similar challenges in future classes?
What success strategies (such as those for getting help or test preparation) did you adopt in our class that you might use in future classes?
What advice, guidance, and/or suggestions would you give to future students in the class
here is an example : From the beginning of the class, I wish I didn’t underestimate the workload for this class. The amount of questions weren’t too bad considering we had practically unlimited tries on the homework and there were videos in case you needed a quick refresher on a concept.
For test prep, I also found that reviewing the practice assessments and honing in on what I spent the most time on helped with future assessments. I initially felt constrained on time for the second assessment but it turned out I just wasn’t as organized as I thought was.
If I could offer any advice to future students, it’s definitely to do the work immediately. Sometimes I felt that I could space out assignments, which became an issue some weeks since my other classes would also post assignments that weren’t on the syllabus. This was stressful since I would then have a larger than expected workload across all my classes. I realized it’s better to work on things that come up immediately rather than delaying it to the point where you might start feeling suffocated by everything.
