“Mindful Progress: Reflecting on Meditation and Reading in Practice”
In order to write this report, you will already have listened to the audio on Thoughts in Meditation in the ‘files’ section of this canvas webpage.
You will have continued to re-watch the videos & to practice every day since your last report. Now you will be updating me on how your meditation is going by again responding to the same topics that you wrote about in report # 1. In addition, you will be writing about how you handle thoughts in meditation, based on your understanding of the audio guidance.
Meditation and Reading Report # 1 Instructions: 3-4 pages total
1) Meditation Report: Write 2 pages describing 1) your meditation posture, 2) what do you choose: eyes open or eyes closed? 3) your experience of the 3 deep, cleansing breaths at the outset 4) the breath-awareness practice that you do after the 3 cleansing breaths. 5) How long did you sit each day? 6) How do you work with thoughts in meditaion? 7) How do you come out of meditation? 8) Describe any experiences you’ve had during your meditation that you would like to share 8) ask any questions you would like to ask.
2) Reading Report: Write an additional 1 to 2 pages in response to these questions: What passages have you read so far in The Miracle of Mindfulness? What do you think about what you have read? Have you been able to apply what you have read to your personal experiences? Explain.
