You can choose your own personal insurance plan if you prefer. Review healthcare coverage options offered by both plans that benefit (facilitate) and hinder (limit) access to care. Examples of healthcare coverage (insurance) options that facilitate, or limit access include medication coverage, primary care physician office visits, specialists physician office visits, emergency care, lab or blood work and diagnostics, wellness care, prevention services or surgery (these are just a few examples). You will also explore the role of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) and charity care within healthcare facilities (hospitals) and how charity care impacts the vulnerable or uninsured population. Stakeholder Presentation: Using the Plan-Do-Study-Act Cycle to Drive Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Improve Organizational Processes Title: Interdisciplinary Collaboration for Organizational and Patient Improvement: Strategies and Evidence-Based Practices
Assessment 4
Stakeholder Presentation
Note: Evidence-based
sources published within 5 years with an APA formatted reference
For this assessment, you will create an 8-12 slide
PowerPoint presentation for one or more stakeholder or leadership
groups to generate interest and buy-in for the plan proposal you developed for
the third assessment.
Professional
Context
Create a professional presentation to stakeholders. In this
presentation, you will explain the Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle and how it can be
used to introduce the plan (P), implement the plan (D), study the effectiveness
of the plan (S), and act on what is learned (A) to drive continuous
improvement. By using this cycle, the stakeholders will have a tool and a
proposal to expand on these ideas to drive workplace change and create improved
processes to solve an interprofessional collaboration problem.
Scenario
In addition to summarizing the key points of Assessments 2
and 3 (Please see a copy
of the completed Assessment 2 & 3 attachments to assist in completing this
assignment), you will provide stakeholders and/or leadership
with an overview of project specifics as well as how success would be
evaluated—you will essentially be presenting a discussion of the Plan, Do, and
Study parts of the PDSA cycle.
When creating your PowerPoint for this assessment, it is
important to keep in mind the target audience: your interviewee’s
organizational leadership. The overall goal of this assessment is to create a
presentation that your interviewee could potentially give in his or her
organization.
Instructions
Be sure that your plan addresses the following, which
corresponds to the grading criteria in the scoring guide. Please study the
scoring guide carefully so you understand what is needed for a distinguished
score.
·
Explain an
organizational or patient issue for which a collaborative interdisciplinary
team approach would help achieve a specific improvement goal.
·
Summarize an
evidence-based interdisciplinary plan to address an organizational or patient
issue.
·
Explain how the
interdisciplinary plan could be implemented and how the human and financial
resources would be managed.
·
Propose evidence-based
criteria that could be used to evaluate the degree to which the project was
successful in achieving the improvement goal.
·
Communicate the
PowerPoint presentation of the interdisciplinary improvement plan to
stakeholders in a professional manner, with writing that is clear, logically
organized, and respectful with correct grammar and spelling using current APA
style.
There are various ways to structure your presentation;
following is one example:
·
Part
1: Organizational or Patient Issue.
o
What is the issue that
you are trying to solve or improve?
o
Why should the audience
care about solving it?
·
Part
2: Relevance of an Interdisciplinary Team Approach.
o
Why is using an
interdisciplinary team relevant, or the best approach, to addressing the issue?
o
How will it help to
achieve improved outcomes or reach a goal?
·
Part
3: Interdisciplinary Plan Summary.
o
What is the objective?
o
How likely is it to
work?
o
What will the
interdisciplinary team do?
·
Part
4: Implementation and Resource Management.
o
How could the plan be
implemented to ensure effective use of resources?
o
How could the plan be
managed to ensure that resources were not wasted?
o
How does the plan
justify the resource expenditure?
·
Part
5: Evaluation.
o
What would a successful
outcome of the project look like?
o
What are the criteria
that could be used to measure that success?
§ How could this be used to show the
degree of success?
Again, keep in mind that your audience for this
presentation is a specific group (or groups) at your interviewee’s organization
and tailor your language and messaging accordingly. Remember, also, that
another person will ultimately be giving the presentation. Include thorough
speaker’s notes that flesh out the bullet points on each slide.
Additional
Requirements
·
Number
of slides: Plan on using one or two
slides for each part of your presentation as needed, so the content of your
presentation will be 8–12 slides in length. Remember that slides should
contain concise talking points, and you will use presenter’s notes to go into
detail. Be sure to include a reference slide as the last slide of your
presentation.
·
Number
of references: Cite a minimum of
3 sources of scholarly or professional evidence that support your central
ideas. Resources should be no more than five years old. (evidence-based
sources published within 5 years with an APA formatted reference)
·
APA
formatting: Make sure that
in-text citations on your slides and in your notes pages and reference slide
reflect current APA Style and Format.

“Advancing Nursing: My Journey to the MSN Program in Healthcare and Nursing Simulation”
Instructions:
I am applying to the MSN program in Healthcare and Nursing Simulation, so I have to write an admission essay including the following:
1-
Describe your future career plans and how the program you are
applying to will help
you achieve your career goals.
2-
Describe the changes you would make in your personal and
professional life to ensure success in your graduate nursing education.
3-
Identify one significant contemporary issue or problem in U.S.
healthcare and explore how members of the nursing profession can help address
that issue or solve that problem.
This is what I worked on so far. Can you please incorporate this into the essay?
1.
My aspiration to advance in nursing
and earn a master’s degree is deeply personal. It is a testament to my
unwavering commitment, the unwavering support of my family, and the flexibility
of my work schedule that allows me to pursue this goal.
I want to continue to make a
difference, be an example for my kids, and show them that it’s possible to
reach your American dream: success in everything you want to do.
Nursing care and simulation technology
are growing hand in hand. The MSN program in Nursing and Health Care Simulation
at UCF will prepare me and help advance my nursing profession to the next
level. Advancements in my profession will also provide better patient care and
advanced training to other nurses.
2.
To ensure success in my graduate nursing profession, I am
fortunate to have a supportive family and a husband who believes UCF provides
outstanding education since he is a Knight’ graduate. I also have the luxury of
a flexible work schedule and am eager and dedicated to advancing my education
to obtain my MSN.
3.
The nursing shortage is among the most significant problems
in the U.S. healthcare system. The current nurse workforce should focus on growth
and career advancement, which can help educate and train new nurses. -
Comparison of APRN Regulations in Different States/Regions
Boards of Nursing (BONs) exist in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Virgin Islands. Similar entities may also exist for different regions. The mission of BONs is the protection of the public through the regulation of nursing practice. BONs put into practice state/region regulations for nurses that, among other things, lay out the requirements for licensure and define the scope of nursing practice in that state/region.
It can be a valuable exercise to compare regulations among various state/regional boards of nursing. Doing so can help share insights that could be useful should there be future changes in a state/region. In addition, nurses may find the need to be licensed in multiple states or regions.
To Prepare:
Review the Resources and reflect on the mission of state/regional boards of nursing as the protection of the public through the regulation of nursing practice.
Consider how key regulations may impact nursing practice.
Review key regulations for nursing practice of your state’s/region’s board of nursing and those of at least one other state/region and select at least two APRN regulations to focus on for this discussion
Create a disscussion Post a comparison of at least two APRN board of nursing regulations in your state/region with those of at least one other state/region. Describe how they may differ. Be specific and provide examples. Then, explain how the regulations you selected may apply to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) who have legal authority to practice within the full scope of their education and experience. Provide at least one example of how APRNs may adhere to the two regulations you selected.
