So remember to add CONDITIONS FOR REBUTTAL (objections) and REBUTTAL (counter-arguments) to your own arguments, and look for them in the arguments you read or hear. The parts of a thorough argument, then, are
CLAIM: eSchool teachers should recycle all recyclable materials in the office.
WARRANT: It is important to protect our environment, including placing less trash in landfills.
QUALIFIER: Some trash is not recyclable in office bins.
REASONS: Recycling keeps trash out of landfills and creates a cleaner community.
EVIDENCE: “[In] the manufacture of new products from ‘virgin materials’ the amount of energy needed is much higher than using recycled materials. The energy and resources that are expended in the transportation of “virgin” materials is also saved” (benefits-of-recycling.com). This means that something made out of our old cracker boxes takes less energy — and therefore pollutes the air and water less — than something made “scratch.”
CONDITIONS FOR REBUTTAL: Some not sure of what can / cannot be recycled. Some unsure that recyclables actually go to recycling center and not to trash.
REBUTTAL: Report JCPS information about what can or cannot be recycled, and quote expert from JCPS waste disposal who will state amount of trash versus recycling for the 2012-13 school year.

Title: Constitutional Arguments and Outcomes in Cotterill v Romanes [2021] VSC 498
Case :Cotterill v Romanes [2021] VSC 498
The assignment question/ instructions
For the case allocated to you, answer the following five questions (each weighted equally):
Q.1 What were the opposing sides arguing over? What outcome did each party want, and what constitutional arguments did each advance to support its case? (Note that there may be more than two parties in constitutional cases as e.g., State Attorneys-General may obtain leave to intervene).
Q.2 What were the main weaknesses in each side’s arguments? In other words, how would you (if you were counsel for one party) have sought to refute each argument put by an opposing party? Eg, what bad consequences might flow if the High Court were to adopt the interpretative approach that party is urging? Q.3 Which side won? Which side do you think should have won? Give reasons for your conclusion, whether you agree with the court’s conclusion or dissent from it. Note that a party may win on some points but lose on others.
Q.4 In what way(s) might Australia be a different society today if the High Court had ruled the other way?
Q.5 Is this decision still “good law” as a precedent? Or has it already been overturned by the High Court? Or, if not, would it probably be reversed by the current High Court if this case were re-litigated today?
Give reasons for your answers, citing statute and case law as authority, and address the strongest counter-arguments.
Note that this assignment calls for critical thinking and deeper analysis. Summarising the judgement is only the beginning. -

You will also need to find what DRDP Measure you might be able to gather evidence for from your activity plan. List the Domain and Measure. 5. Describe how you will introduce the activity. 6. List two open-ended questions related to your activity idea. You can find the links to Foundations in the first Module of the course, and can Google the Foundations and DRDP maps for labeling of each part, as well as the DRDP preschool view to find a domain and measure.
