PAPER: HORMONAL CONTRACEPTION ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTVERVIEW
The written assignments in this course are designed to help students further explore the
regulation of the human body systems and how alterations to the interdependency of these
systems results in human diseases. It will afford students the opportunity to investigate the
physiologic mechanisms that sustain normal body functions.
INSTRUCTIONS
For this scientific paper, you should read Chapter 10 of your Physiology textbook (Costanzo,
Physiology) and current literature on the physiology of hormonal contraception, then write a 2-
page essay that addresses the following;
1. A description of the physiologic basis of the different types of hormonal birth control.
2. Based on the physiology described in Q1, identify which of these prevent fertilization
3. Based on the physiology in Q1, identify which of these prevent or disrupt implantation
(abortifacient).
4. Identify other clinical uses of combined oral contraceptive pills.
5. A biblical view of human reproduction.
You should employ at least five peer-reviewed scientific sources/literature including review
articles in your research on the topic and be sure to use the AMA writing format. There is a two
(2) page length limit on this paper, but it should be detailed, comprehensive, well organized and
should have the appropriate language for scientific communication.

Psychological Development in Late Adulthood: Describe the psychological changes and developments that occur in late adulthood, considering both the challenges and growth opportunities.

1) Definition: give a brief definition of the disease or condition
2) Signs and symptoms: list common signs and symptoms of the disease or condition
3) Etiology: is this disease or condition genetic, environmental, age or gender related, or due to lifestyle? How did it arise?
4) Diagnosis: How would this disease or condition be diagnosed? What tests or procedures are done to diagnose?
5) Treatment: What treatments are available?
6) Prognosis: What are the outcomes with a diagnosis of this disease or condition? Discuss lifespan and quality of life.
