Create a term paper that focuses on the following topic: covid pandemic and its effects on geopolitics and globalization between the US and other countries (specifically China)
The paper should identify relevant facts and showing evidence of selection of appropriate data and competent source evaluation. It will include analysis of the data, clearly stated conclusions and an examination of the implications or consequences of the conclusions. Generally, the films we have watched in this course attempt to faithfully portray the Holocaust experience. Inglourious Basterds, Europa Europa, and Life is Beautiful, by contrast, provide us to varying degrees with alternative realities. Select one of these films to focus on. In your final paper, provide an in-depth discussion of at least three differences in how the filmmakers and actors portray the Holocaust compared to what we have seen during the rest of this course. Based on our readings throughout the course, in what ways can we consider this account an alternative reality? What lessons do you think the makers of these alternative realities are trying to convey by depicting the Holocaust in this way? What is gained from engaging in fantasy? What is lost? Your 3-5 page paper should be double-spaced with 1 inch margins and Times New Roman 12 pt. font.   

The first discussion paper of the semester will be on the assigned reading from James Fallows, “How the World Works”. This writing assignment will not require that you use any other outside sources; all questions may be sufficiently answered by referencing the article. In a three to five page paper, double spaced with 12 point font and 1 inch margins, answer all parts of each of the following questions; incomplete answers will not receive full credit. According to Fallows, which 3 thinkers have most influenced the Western worldview and what were the contributions of each? Which thinker/contribution most frequently diverges from the non-Western worldview?
What is the primary difference between the economic theories of Adam Smith and Friedrich List as regards what is consumed vs. what is produced? According to List, why is this distinction important?
In the Anglo-American theory, what is the proper role and relationship of government to the market, society and individuals, and which is given priority? How does the relationship between free trade and political power differ between the Anglo and German schools? Explain in depth and provide examples.
In your opinion, does the United States still embrace Smith’s view or has it pivoted to List, and why do you believe it has adopted this position? Provide a thorough explanation for your reasoning and provide modern examples.

Think of the city you are focusing on learning more about. Look for their most recent (this can vary) community health needs assessment.
Review the city’s assessment carefully, and type a formal report (No specific formatting is required but footnotes to facilitate the data source is encouraged). Please do not use APA for the overall document formatting, you can however use any appropriate formatting for the references. Assume the audience for this report are business leaders and or community stakeholders. The report should include:

Besides what is requested above, please include a section where you respond to the following questions 
What is your overall opinion of the of your community’s health needs assessment?
Does the data used by the assessment’s participants support their prioritized issues and populations?
Do you see a need to address a public health issue not covered or mentioned in the city’s assessment? If yes, what data supports your arguments? This question here is important  because it will be used later in the semester for an assignment.

I choose to study this topic because it encompasses various aspects such as individual liberty, public safety, legal interpretation, and American societal values. Through in-depth investigation of historical documents, academic research, and legal cases, I plan to trace the origins and intentions of the Second Amendment, explore its impact on American politics and society during different historical periods, and how it has shaped current gun policies and public opinions. I hope to present a comprehensive, rational, and constructive viewpoint by synthesizing different perspectives and evidence, guiding discussions on the Second Amendment and its future development, and discussing whether it needs to be amended or preserved.
