Management Project Description: Application of the Four Functions of Management:
The overall purpose is to apply what you have learned regarding the four functions of management to an organization. You will accomplish this through research, analysis, identification management-level issue to be addressed, and decision-making to address that issue based on your knowledge of the 4 functions.
Students will select and suggest an implementation approach for an operational-level (Management-level) change utilizing the four functions of management. Students will complete this project in the three project steps described below.  Students will select an organization, assess its managerial effectiveness, identify a management opportunity for improvement, and make a recommendation to improve its managerial issue through the approaches, principles, and methods learned in the class. 
Management Project Part 1: Company Selection and Summary (5% of total course grade)
Week 4 for 15-week courses
Submission of your selected company and identification of the management issue you will be addressing. You must choose an actual.  The company needs to be publicly traded and should be a company that you have some interest in whether it is a possible career choice, products that you might use, or interest you in any other way. Another consideration might be to select a company that is not performing so well so opportunities for improvement regarding strategic changes might be easily identified.
Management Issue to be Addressed: 
This can be a goal to fix issues the company may be experiencing, employee motivation, management styles, or any related areas covered throughout the course. Your issue must not be a strategic-level issue such as increasing the amount of products, going after new customers, markets etc. This must be something internal to the organization directly related to management in some tangible way.
You only need to post the company name and a 3-paragraph summary of your plans for your term paper in the submission box.  Submit in a Microsoft Word Document.
In this part you should address the following areas with 1 paragraph for each section:
-Company name, stock symbol, and industry with a brief description.
-Why you chose this company. 
-What management-level issue you will be improving through the 4 functions of management.
