Part I: Project Proposal
Throughout this course, you will be creating deliverables as part of an overall construction project beginning in this unit. You will build on a project plan with the final deliverable culminating in Unit VII.
For this assignment, you are given five options (see below). Details about each option have also been provided in the Unit II Lesson. Executives at Suburban Homes have approached you to develop a project using one of the five options below, so they can maintain a balanced portfolio.
Single-family homes in a suburban area
Small multifamily property
Small apartment building
Large apartment complex
Commercial building
For this assignment, select one of the options for construction. Note: You will be using this selection for the entire course for other assignments.
Create a project proposal about the option that you have selected. Within your proposal, describe the scope of your project. These details will be used in later assignments to determine a budget and schedules. Refer to the Unit II Lesson to help identify the scope of each option.
Include a SWOT analysis to show the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for this selection. Refer to Exhibit 2.2 in the textbook for more details on how to create the SWOT.
Based on your selected option, what teams and vendors may need to be involved with your project? For example, a commercial building may require heavy construction equipment that would not be needed for a single-family home.
Part II: Work Breakdown Structure
Based on your selection, Suburban Homes is requesting that you complete the work breakdown structure (WBS) to several levels such that the lowest level represents work packages and activities. Also, you need to make sure that no work components are missing to deliver the project outcome based on your selection. You are asked to exclude the project management part of it and instead focus on the what aspect of the project and not on the how aspect of the WBS. Once the WBS is completely developed, please perform the following tasks:
Expand the WBS so that work packages or activities are defined at the lowest level.
Develop a project schedule at the lowest level of WBS elements after defining logical relations.
Estimate durations of each element in the network.
Compute forward pass and backward pass to determine project duration.
Determine a critical path for the project.
Note: Include the square footage, the number of rooms, bathrooms, and other details that you identified in Part I. Also, include the estimated time needed to complete the work, costs, and scope in your submission. Include a written report about the selection made, and describe ways to overcome project constraints.
Your completed assignment must be at least three pages in length. External sources are not required, but if used, please also add a reference page.

“Automati Project: Developing a Strategic Rationale and Definition for Project Management Success” “Optimizing Recruitment Processes: Improving Efficiency, Candidate Experience, and Hiring Manager Satisfaction in a Recruitment Agency”
Subject Learning Outcomes (SLOs)
Demonstrate advanced understanding of project management principles, frameworks, and critical awareness of contemporary approaches needed for managing and leading projects.
Critically evaluate, analyse, reflect on, and synthesise information to address complex project management issues in specific contexts.
Clearly, concisely and credibly communicate project management knowledge to specialist and non-specialist audiences to inform practice.
Task
Applying project management concepts and theory, you will critically analyse key components to develop a project rationale and definition that outlines the project’s strategic purpose, project priorities, project success criteria and project management approach.
Act as the project manager and present the strategic rationale for selecting the project and project definition to your project team at the project kick-off meeting.
ote: It is recommended you select a potential new project that you or your organisation will run in the near future. Alternatively, you can relate this to a past project or a project in progress; however, you will need to redefine the project towards an improved project performance and propose it as a new project.
Procedures
Your oral presentation should address the following components:
Project title, purpose and strategic alignment. Explain the purpose of the project and alignment with the strategic needs of the organisation.
Scope. Define the project objectives, major deliverables and limits of scope. To be effective, these should be specific and measurable.
Project priorities. Establish and justify the project priorities, accounting for the identified key stakeholders involved and their expectations.
Project’s success criteria. Define the project’s success criteria and discuss the alignment with the project’s purpose, stakeholder expectations and priorities.
Based on the characteristics of the project you have defined above, select and justify a suitable project management approach for implementation (e.g. traditional, agile, hybrid).
Requirements
Prepare your presentation using PowerPoint (Office 365) – Assessment 1 template (.pptx). The template is a starting point to structure your work but feel free to adapt it as needed.
You are recommended to use a maximum of 7 slides, + Title and Referenc slides ( total of 9 Slides )
This assessment requires you to use a minimum 10 ( prefer 12-14)
credible academic sources , Must use the book as one of them (
Larson, E & Gray, C 2020, Project management: The managerial process, 8th edn, McGraw-Hill, New York. (ISBN: 9781260570434 or 9781260579567) ) . You may also use current company, industry, government and media sources to support your statements, but these will NOT count toward the minimum required credible academic sources for your assessment. Most web-based sources are not sufficiently rigorous and credible for use in academic assessments and will NOT count toward the minimum required credible academic sources for your assessment
maximum 7 minutes (presentation will not be marked after 7 minutes) – The recording notes to be written on the note side ( for presenter mode ) and should be recordable within the limit given ( don’t make them too long ) – Start with the overview and titles – and each slide . the note are the elaboration and explanation of what is written in the slide , Please do not write what is in the slide in the notes ( but the explanation and details )
You must record with the Powerpoint slides in presenter mode and you must present to the camera and be in the video throughout your presentation.
See AIB Style Guide: 7.7 Oral presentations before you submit for resources on how to record your presentation using AIB Zoom and how to deliver an effective presentation, including how to cite and reference slides and examples.
Ensure the Work is done professionally – 0 AI usage.
Reviews about the work will be given only after the grading of the project

Title: Exploring the Impact of Project Management Methodologies on Organizational Performance: A Case Study of Moodle Implementation in Higher Education Institutions Introduction: Project management has become an essential aspect of organizational success, particularly in the fast-paced and constantly evolving business
Design a case study research proposal with the following parts:
Introduction
Provide a title and background
The background should provide a brief overview of your chosen project and topic, including your motivation for selecting this case study topic
Literature review
Drawing on some key pieces of of topic-related literature, explain why researching the selected topic is important using knowledge and understanding of key theories/models from Project Management or related domains.
In addition to this you must provide a table in the Appendix summarizing at least 7-10 sources that your research will draw on to justify your research context and design decisions.
The table should have columns for aims/objectives of paper, topics discussed and any areas identified for future research.
Based on this table, you can present the possible area that your research will face based on a gap or suggestion in existing literature.
Two examples are Moodle.
Case study methodology
Outline a clear and suitable data collection method (including administration).
Include a clear and suitable explanation of how the data will collected, sampled and analysed.
Please note that you will not be collecting primary data, and should not include this in your proposed methodology
Critical evaluation
Using Saunders et al.’s (2019 or earlier) ‘Research Onion’, write a critical evaluation of your research proposal developed (drawing on a wide range of research methodology literature).
As a result you should state based on your critique, why your approach is the most suitable approach for your chosen research topic and why other approach(es) are NOT suitable.
Remember you need to justify all the steps, eg. why have you chosen this specific methodology and data collection tool? Why they are appropriate for addressing your research question and research problem?
Notes:
For parts 3 & 4 you should use between 5 – 7 research method sources.
You must NOT actually collect or analyse any data for this coursework – this is just the proposal stage where you set out how you plan to collect and analyse the data -
