A school psychologist uses an IQ test to identify students who would benefit from gifted programs and special education. According to the school district policy, new students must be tested for placement. A student from a rural school relocates to an urban school within the same district. The school psychologist tests the student and observes a change in the IQ score from testing done two months prior.
Part B: Case Analysis

The publishing house you are interning for is thinking of incorporating personality tests into the firm’s job application process. The human resources director has asked you to conduct research on different personality tests and prepare a proposal. The goal for week 3 is to focus on how disasters specifically affect first responders. The category of first responders includes military, firefighters, and police. The roles that first responders are called to serve in are varied and they are, as their title indicates, the first individuals on the scene of disasters. Just like civilian victims, first responders can develop PTSD and other co-occurring disorders.  
Remember to answer the Forum Question by Wednesday and post at least 3 replies by Sunday.
For your Forum Question answer, please address the following:
1). What are the main challenges faced by the military and the first responders in disasters?
2). How can terrorism and the media trigger trauma-related psychiatric symptoms with Veterans and other first responders?

This is a Literature Review, and is to provide an overview of the answers that exist in the research to a a given question. 
The question and context given for this assignment is: You are asked to write a literature review on the impact of family dynamics during childhood on perpetration of crime during adolescence. In 1000 words or less, discuss the relationship between parental incarceration and adolescent crime.  
Think about the factors that play a role in the relationship by working out the ‘how’ and ‘why’. For example, why would parental incarceration be related to adolescent crime? Try to come up with 2-3 factors.
Work out which advanced relationship the factors are. For example, access to additional resources might be a likely moderating factor in the relationship between parental incarceration and adolescent crime. Such that, if the adolescent has access to additional resources they might be less likely to commit crime. On the other hand, if the adolescent does not have access to additional resources, they might be more likely to commit crime. 
As a Literature Review, the goal is to provide an overview of the answers that exist in the research to the given question, provide a meaningful synthesis of the information for the reader. 
Give some evaluation of what we do or dont know from the research, including some evaluation of the research (ie limitations) – not of individual studies, but the combined body of research as a whole.
Overall: Write a good general essay discussing the relationship between parental incarceration and adolescent crime.  With a paragraph discussing the research (limits etc). Try to identify some factors that can impact on the relationship. If possible please try to explore at least one of the more advanced relationships as discussed above.

Dave, a 10-year old boy, is seen in an intake counseling session accompanied by his mother. His mother is worried because Dave is so angry.  Dave tells you that he hates his parents. He tells you that he is sick of his father’s alcoholic rages and his mother making excuses for them. Mom tells you that Dave will argue and pick a fight with his father when Dad is drinking.  Often times, this ends with fights between Dave and his Dad.  On more than one occasion Dave has suffered from a black eye. Dave tells you that he only picks these fights to protect his 8-year old brother by “getting the heat off of him”. You want to introduce a program that enables students to take the VIA youth survey, which is a version of the strengths survey designed specifically for children between the ages of 10 and 17.
