For this piece of coursework, you need to
produce a health promotion infographic accompanied by a theoretical summary. An
infographic (or information graphic) is “a visual representation of information
or data” designed to communicate complex ideas in an easy to digest format.
There is no set word limit for the infographic, but you are expected to consider
aspects of good design that are consistent with production of an infographic as
described in the literature.
The infographic must target a current health
issue, highlight associated health-related behaviour(s) and include at least
two appropriate techniques to support behaviour change in order to protect,
maintain or improve health. When designing your infographic, you must also
consider relevant theory and research relating to effective and persuasive
communication.
The theoretical summary will present a
compelling analysis of the importance of behaviour change in relation to the
identified health issue and evaluate relevant theory and research underpinning the
choice of behaviour change techniques. The summary will also justify the use of
specific communication devices used in the design of the infographic to support
its effectiveness as a health promotion tool. The discussion of communication devices should
be separate and distinct from the discussion of behaviour change techniques
included in the infographic.
We will explore the content of the
coursework together in the assessment workshops and assessment preparation
sessions (see the schedule of work in the module handbook). During these
sessions there will be formal opportunities to receive formative feedback on
each aspect of the portfolio. We will also provide information on how to submit
your portfolio in Turnitin.

Choose two days of the year, one being your birthday. Access the website https://www.timeanddate.com/on-this-day/
Identify the historical events in the field of psychology that happened on your chosen dates. Enter each of the two dates you selected into the date search boxes on the website. Write a one-page APA style summary of the key events in the field of psychology for each date you selected; not including the title page. Remember to cite your sources and defend your position with evidence from credible sources. -
The Nature and Nurture Contributions to Child Obesity: A Developmental Psychology Perspective
Each of the paper options listed below allow you the opportunity to explore the scientific research behind a theme in the Developmental (Lifespan) Psychology course. The paper should be between 3 and 5 pages long, not including title page and reference page. The paper should be written in APA style. At a minimum, this means it should include:
Title Page
Double-spaced, 12-pt Times-New Roman text. Remove extra space between paragraphs that is the default in MS Word.
1” margins on all four sides
References page (all references cited in the text, all citations included on the references page)
Paper Option #1
Nature/Nurture
Developmental science focuses on the various contributions to development, and whether they lean toward the genetic side of things (nature) or environmental (nurture). Choose from one of the following topics discussed in the modules:
child obesity
eating disorders
adolescent depression
aging
For this paper, review the module material on your specific topic. Then, write a paper describing in detail the “nature” (primarily genetic, inherited) contributions to this condition as well as the “nurture” contributions. You will need to conduct Internet research and cite the sources to obtain additional information on your topic. For example, explaining the inherited reasons for a child to be obese will require that you visit, read, summarize, and cite medical sites on the Internet. It is crucial that you rephrase material in your own words and cite it or put phrases from the sources in quotation marks and cite them. No more than a few sentences should be directly quoted in order for you to receive credit for writing this paper (in other words, no credit is given for a paper that is a string of other people’s quotes). As a general rule of thumb, at least 1.5 pages should focus on “nature” contributions to the issue at hand and at least 1.5 pages should focus on “nurture” contributions.
Your research must include at least four journal articles or books. Websites can be very helpful and informative, but your final paper must include full, published research articles or books on the topic. Sources should be reputable and consistent with what you learned in the module as well as other sources. GoogleScholar and PDF articles from the Internet can be helpful resources. Make sure you use good search terms when trying to find articles. You may want to start broad (for example, “bystander effect”), and then narrow to your particular area. This paper requirement means that you need to include at least two primary sources in your paper; articles from the Internet can be included, but they would be in addition to the two minimum primary sources. Primary sources are firsthand accounts; thus, they involve the author writing about his or her own work.
It is recommended that you spend at least a page and a half discussing “nature” for this topic and a page and at least a half discussing “nurture.” Finally, conclude the paper by indicating which side (nature, nurture) gives the strongest contribution to this condition or whether they are both needed. For example, for child obesity, is genetics alone a sufficient cause for a child to be obese, or are poor eating habits necessary along with a genetic predisposition? The paper should follow the following format:
I. Introduction. Introduce your topic.
II. Description and research on “nature” components
III. Description and research on “nurture” components
IV. Evaluation: which side (nature, nurture) most strongly contributes? -
“The Multi-Faceted Nature of Emotions: A Critical Evaluation of Biological and Sociological Perspectives”
This is a theoretical essay. The purpose of this essay is that you learn to identify the main principals of a theory and use them to critically evaluate how different theories would approach the same phenomena, in this case, a specific emotion. The theoretical perspectives that you will combine in your essay will be covered in the lectures, e.g. biological approaches, sociological approaches, emotion talk, group psychology, and affect studies. You will use these theoretical perspectives to analyse your chosen emotion from at least two different perspectives

“Analyzing Statistical Significance in Psychological Research: A Case Study of Student Data”
To apply statistical significance methodology to psychological research, you need to understand critical values of your data.
Using the same scenario you chose in Part 1 of this assignment, you will now analyze your data (Statistic Project Student Data), report your findings (results section), and give your recommendations. These are based on these critical values.
If you compared what you have done so far to a research article, you could say you have completed the Introduction, Literature Review, and Methods sections, explaining your research. For Part II of this assignment, you will be explaining the results.
Imagine that you continue in your role as an intern.
Your supervisor has requested that you analyze your data using Microsoft® Excel® software.
Write a 750- to 1,050-word summary of that analysis that includes the following information:
Describe what method you are using to compare groups. (What is your statistical measure or test?)
Copy and paste the output into your summary, answering the following questions:
What is the significance level of the comparison?
What was the alpha level you identified in Part I?
What was the means and variance for each variable?
What was the test statistic?
What was the critical value for both the one- and two-tailed test?
Was your test one-tailed or two-tailed?
Were you able to reject the null hypothesis? In other words, did you prove there was a difference?
Explain what these results mean in everyday language and in context to your organization.
Make a recommendation based on the findings.
Include what further research you believe would need to be completed, based on your findings and your literature review.
Format your paper according to APA guidelines.

Research Topic: How might empathy and education encourage resilience from symptoms of eco-anxiety and
eco-depression related to recycling confusion
Research Questions:
1. What items are most easily recycled and which are not? (Use EPA.gov as resource for this)
2. How has plastic recycling affected public perception of recycling as a whole? (See “Fraud of Plastic Recycling” document attached)
3. What educational strategies are effective in reducing recycling confusion? (Several sources attached that should help)
4. What are the symptoms of eco-anxiety?
5. What are the symptoms of eco-depression?
6. How does recycling confusion contribute to eco-anxiety and eco-depression?
7. Can empathy (with ourselves, with others) alleviate the stress associated with eco-anxiety and
eco-depression?
8. Where are there areas for opportunity related to reducing recycling confusion and addressing eco-anxiety and/or eco-depression?
