  • Exploring Religious Themes: Worship, Traditions, and Identity In this class, I have learned about various religious themes and ideas that have piqued my interest. Three themes that I find particularly fascinating are worship, traditions, and identity.

What have you learned in this class about the religious themes and ideas you find most interesting? For this assignment, you’ll need to choose three new themes to write about that have not written about yet. You may want to look back at the image of the themes we talked about the first day of class, or you may wish to come up with your own themes. For each of these, find two citations from different sources that you can compare and contrast for what they say about this theme and idea. To do this, you will want to find citations that are both similar and different. How can they tell us about the ideas in distinct and related ways? The assignment consists principally of three paragraphs, at least one per theme. In each paragraph you will need to cite at least two unique examples of your theme that you can compare and contrast. You will need to explain each citation so that I can understand what the citation means, but not so much that you are summarizing information you do not need. You will need to explain how the citations are similar and different in such a way that illustrates why the theme you’re interested in is so important. You will need to say why it’s important in a strongly-worded topic sentence. You should not write an intro or conclusion in the long writing assignment.
You will also need to use at least three sources that you did not use on your last long writing assignment. Please remember to consult the video on the writing process on Canvas. Remember not to cite sources outside of the syllabus. ONLY USE THE SOURCES I ADDED IN THE LINK BOX ONLY READ THE PAGES I SAID TOO.
your themes will be worship , traditions, and identity
