You are an intern at a community-based mental health agency. You work with Black maternal death rate population and were asked to write two brief papers of 6-7 pages for your director on the health disparity of Black maternal death rate in this population. This information will be used to educate other social workers to improve their individual, community and policy level practice skills. You were asked to utilize peer-reviewed, empirical literature and reputable data sources.
Research Paper #1: Health Disparity Overview
Your Research Paper #1 must have these three (3) components:
Tell the story of a population that experiences a health disparity—a difference in health status based on systemic inequalities, such as those discussed in class. In this component, be sure to:Define your population early
Use statistical data (i.e. prevalence or insistence) Use other information/sources
Clearly explain and define this disease/disparity. In this component, be sure to:Define the disease/disparity in non-technical terms
Explain the physical symptoms of the disease on the individual and the family
Explain the psychosocial impacts of the disease on the individual and the family
Tell your audience (the director of the community-based mental health agency) about the causes of the health disparity. In this component, be sure to:Explain why this disparity is a significant social problem
Review and summarize current peer-reviewed empirical literature on the causes of this health disparityi.Identify what theories have been used to explain or investigate this disparity
ii.Identify the multiple factors at the individual, family, community, provider, or systems/policy level that explain the disparity
Research Paper #1: Guidelines
Your Research Paper #1 must follow these structural and academic guidelines:
Paper length is six to seven (6-7) pages, not including cover and reference pages
Citations and references are to be formatted in APA style
In total, you need ten (10) referencesAt least five (5) reputable references related to data and facts about the disparity/disease and population affected
At least five (5) references from original, peer-reviewed research articles related to the cause of the disparity
Paper must be uploaded to TurnItIn on Moodle 24-hours before deadlineStudents should check the similarity report, revise as necessary, and resubmit by the deadline

Project should include the following:
PART I: Assessment
1. Company Profile: introduction for your company that describes the nature of the business model. It should also include the volume of the business: capital, turn over, sales, etc.
2. Department Profile: Describe details of your function and how it contributes to the company operations. It includes organizational chart that maps interrelations of different departments. It also shows the inbound activities (input parameters) to your function and the outbound activities (output).
3. Function process: A detailed description of your business process starting from the inbound activities till the outbound activities. It should include the flow chart of the process, resources and roles.
4. Process metrics: areas to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the process. These metrics should be cascaded down to define quantitative key performance indicators (KPI’s).
5. Process limitations: It includes the critical factors (internal or external) that may disturb the smoothness of process flow. It may include also bottlenecks and possible areas for improvement.
PART II: You as a Leader
6. Select one of the areas of improvement (identified in step 5) and decide what change needs to be done. Address the following a. How is this change will synchronize with company’s vision? b. Provide a stakeholder analysis to get support of your sponsors
7. Provide example(s) on possible change resistance.
8. How would you envision the destructive technologies will organization / market in the coming 10 years?
9. Orientation of your team: the primary objective of this step is to constitute the team that will address the problem at hand and ensure that all its members have a clear picture of the relevant issues. You may address their needed competencies.

You must find a news or journal article that is evidence that the problem or issue you wish to study is something current and of concern.Please see the attachment for the Template and more instructions.This is just the starting, I will be posting more work related to this research in the fture which will be a continuation of this project. This is just the initial phase of picking topics.
