Assume that you are a new social worker employed in a rural outreach program focused in either West Virginia (Duncan, Chapter 1). Because of the spectrum of issues you will need to pick one area to gather information on first. Create a research question and construct a six-eight question survey that would help you get some general information about the issue. This information will be a first step into the issue and will allow you to start to build a plan. You may use the same topic as your literature review if you would like to dive further into that area.
Use quantitative survey questions and use references from the literature to support the questions you selected. The assignment should be no more than 2 pages in length (not including coverpage) and should include your research question on the cover page of the assignment Your paper should include:
Short introduction to the topic
Survey questions and possible responses
Explanation of how surveys will reach people
How you attempted to avoid bias
Why you feel a survey will be successful.
Your paper must be formatted according to APA style, including margins, levels of headings, in-text citations, and a title and reference page separate from the page count. It should be written clearly, in a professional manner, free of errors in grammar, spelling, and sentence structure. You must include 2-3 resources from the course readings. The assignment should be no more than 2 pages in length.

Explain how a specific agency is addressing this issue.
As part of your research, you must contact an agency that provides services that address your chosen social problem/at-risk population. During the interview, gather the following information:
Nature of their work
Job qualifications
Client population and target population
Method of service delivery (home visits, group therapy, office visits, etc.)
Funding source
Any other relevant information
I have started by writing an abstract, which is listed below. I attached the information from the interview with the social worker.
Abstract: Highlighting the existence and consequences of the waiting list for individuals with intellectual disabilities who require services under the Michelle P. Waiver raises awareness amongst the public, policymakers, and stakeholders about the challenges faced by individuals with special needs and their families. Advocating for timely, accessible, efficient, and alternative interventions is essential for their development, well-being, and overall quality of life. The prolonged wait list reflects inefficiencies, resource shortages, funding gaps, and bureaucratic barriers. Providing guidance and navigating waiver services helps clarify roles and responsibilities, driving advocacy efforts to improve access to timely services and expand options for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
