Conduct your own physical experiment using the scientific method. Research the scientific method and give a 1-2 page written description of each step. You will then document your process with photos and/or video. Results will also be shared by uploading such media (or the links) of your process to the discussion board in this module. Write a reflective Journal for a social work student based in Queensland, Australia who is doing their placement with Community Corrections. 
The student has worked as a court officer presenting breach packs for contravention of probation and parole orders, and worked as a case manager in the community corrections office. 
Included is an example assignement: 
1.Consideration and reflection of the organisational,
policy, legislative and practice context of placement. Include the community it
serves and links with other human services organisations. 
2. Demonstration of self-development during the course or
the placement and identification of current strengths and gaps in skills and
understanding and implications social work practice. 
3. Demonstration of increasing awareness of placement as a
learning experience, including understanding of the use of self’ as a social
worker. In particular include reflection of own values and beliefs; and the
impact of self on situations experienced on placement. 
4. Analysis of implications for future practice, include
reflection on plans for ongoing development during placement, the use of
constructive feedback, and critical reflective practice. 
5. Understanding of how previous units of study and
literature informs thinking regarding issues arising during the placement. 
6. Understanding and articulation of achievements and
capabilities and consideration of future directions. 
7. Quality presentation, including written expression,
referencing, and conformity to APA 7th or Harvard referencing.  
Note this must be done in the Australian, context.
The ethical delema that that student has should be around them being in their role in corrections but sees advocation from local social justice groups as of poor quality and wishes she can get up and say something in court to stick up for someones rights but is conflicted in this because of their role.

Objective:
The purpose of this assignment is to investigate a social policy with some depth and explore the implications of that policy. This paper requires research on the policy itself as well as the historical era and events surrounding the development and implementation of the policy. You will also include a discussion of the intent, target(s) (behavioral and/or individual), ideologies, and impacts of the policy. Lastly you will evaluate the effectiveness of the policy (based on others’ research) and/or present an alternative policy or strategy to meet the policy’s stated goals.
Format:
The paper should cover the following 5 areas:
Identify a social policy
Provide some historical context of the policy (what was happening around this time and location) – was it during the progressive era, welfare reform era, etc.
Describe the social policy: how did the policy come to be? what social problem was it set up to solve? What was the target population or behavior of the policy? What were the eligibility criteria of the policy and what were the benefits and/or burdens of it?
Analyze the values (e.g. equality of opportunity) ideologies (protestant work ethic, paternalism, individualism, libertarian, left;liberal, etc.) and/or moral theories (e.g. liberalism, Marxism, etc.) driving and/or supporting this policy.
Discuss the extent to which this policy achieves its aims and consider alternative strategies to achieve the goals of this social policy.  Please use APA citations and provide a reference page (not included in the page count). You must cite at least 3 outside of class resources for your assignment.
You must also include a note (narrative, bullet points or table) describing how you incorporated the feedback you received on your draft. Please include this as a separate file or after your reference page.

Create a final paper using the articles downloaded, the referral of what the paper should include, and my proposal paper. The final paper shall be no less than 2,500
words and 5,000 words. The final paper memos will be in the assignments section
of the Blackboard by May 22.
The paper can critically analyze material covered in the course and other
relevant literature. If you chose this option, the section must contain material covered in the course(see attached reading below) and must have the approval of your thesis supervisor.

HEALTH INFOGRAPHIC (100 POINTS)
Infographic tools serve as an effective way to present complex data in a visual format that is compelling, provides rapidly available information, and is directly useful for decision-making purposes. Identify and select a health issue/problem from any of the class discussions, required class readings, or listed websites at the end of the syllabus. Create a one-page infographic based on your selected health issue/problem. Successful completion of this assignment will indicate that the student is succinctly able to identify a health problem/issue, identify the cause, and advocate for change or improvement. The health problem should be of interest to the student and should benefit a specific population. It is crucial that the infographic be concise and creative. A reference sheet should be submitted as a separate page. 
The Issue chosen for this paper is Substance Use Disorder among Veterans- 5 slides total
4 slides with bulleted points to answer questions and support data
1 slide to contain 2 graphs- 1 supporting the data of a rise of substance use disorder and  1 in support of whatever is chosen to address it and the efficacy of the suggestion
What are the implications of the issue (include the specific population impacted)? Remember to highlight any systemic forces.
·       Clearly identify the issue. Also specify who is the audience. List the audience specifically on the infographic.
Identify data and trends to support your findings. Select data and pictorial representation carefully.
Who is responsible or what has caused the problem?
What can be done to address the issue, including any evidence-based policy recommendations?
Each student will prepare a 5-minute powerpoint presentation for their Infographic to be presented 
The presentation should include the following points:
·       Summary of the issue you selected and your plan to address it
·       Discussion of one current local or national program that has attempted to address the issue and discuss the efficacy of the program and whether or not social work/social workers are (or have been) involved in the program
·       Who is your audience for the infographic and what is your plan for maximum exposure and potential for change?
·       Graphs, data, visuals to support the issue and address the issue

Provide a clear argument for the impact of this issue on a particular group. Use at least 4 facts to support a consistent story which helps describe the magnitude of the problem. Highlighted numbers, graphs or tables are necessary. 
SO WHAT? Why does this problem matter?
Systemic forces are highlighted. Has the issue been examined from a lens of power and oppression?  Social math is used to contextualize the cost or larger implication of the problem on society. The choice of wordsused is thoughtful and supports a deeper understanding of the issue. (
Now What? Solutions. What can be done about the problem?
Multiple solutions are contextualized and situated in literature. Solutions are aimed at multiple levels (micro, mezzo & macro) and inspire action. Recommendations are specific.  
Graphics & Visualizations
Details support the main idea without detracting. Color, shape, size and arrangement of graphics contribute to the meaning and message. Easy to understand. Layout is neat and clear. The takeaway of each table or graph is stated. Graphics chosen highlight key data-points or contribute meaning to the infographic.  
Presentation
Summary of issue selected and plan to address it. Discussion of program that has attempted to address the issue, Discussion of the efficacy of the program found.

I started my internship and my supervisor is on vacation so she gave me a chapter to read and im to do a process recording on how i feel about what I’ve read. please see the attached photos of the chapter for this assignment.
