“Addressing Human Trafficking in Sub-Saharan Africa: Designing and Evaluating Culturally Appropriate Interventions at Individual and Community Levels” Title: Program Monitoring and Evaluation in Older Organizations: A Comprehensive Approach
Here are the instructions and a suggested outline. You will be doing human trafficking in sub Saharan Africa. Design an intervention at the individual level and one at the community level. Then discuss how you will monitor or evaluate outcomes.
Choose one of the two psychosocial problems – human trafficking or childhood depression – and conduct a literature review. You may select a different problem but need to ensure there is adequate literature and obtain approval from your instructor. Focus on one country or region (e.g., sub-Saharan Africa, Alaskan natives) so that your recommendations are culture-specific. Describe the prevalence and causes of the problem in general and, if available, in your country or region of choice. Describe also the costs of the problem to the individuals and to the society in which it occurs, and which of these costs you hope to address through your program.
Design an intervention program that is culturally appropriate, strengths-based, and empowering for the community. Include at least two of the following ecological levels: individual, family/group, community, and organization. For the family/group level, you may choose to use a naturally occurring group, such as a classroom or medical ward, or create your own. Or you may take the family of the identified patient as your group. For the community level, apply concepts of community development to create a sustained response to the problem. For the organizational level, identify the policies, resources, and stakeholder collaboration needed to support and implement your program.
Complete your assignment by discussing how you will monitor and evaluate outcomes for all program goals.
Outline
Introduction (Use level one headers [Bolded and Centered] for each section)
Brief 1-2 paragraphs clearly identify the target population and social issue.
Use contemporary statistics (within the last 3 years) to demonstrate the severity of the issue and its consequences for the target population.
Conclude the section with a purpose statement that clearly outlines what will be presented and discussed in the paper sections. The purpose statement should align with the dimensions of the rubric. For example:
Example
“This paper purpose of this paper is to address the issue of human trafficking among Native American women. It will start with a literature review to provide context, followed by a discussion of two levels of intervention (micro, macro and/or mezzo) and an analysis of the requirements of stakeholders, agencies, and providers involved in the interventions. Finally, the paper will conclude by examining the quantitative and qualitative methods used to monitor and evaluate these interventions.”
Literature Review
This section of the paper fully articulates fully these three areas: (a) the prevalence of the problem in the region chosen, (b) the individual and societal costs of the problem, and (c) the determinants of the problem. Argues with abundant evidence for the need for intervention of the type you have designed.
Intervention Level 1 (Students Please select one sphere of the ecological model)
This section of the paper describes with consistent detail the goals, methods, and steps or stages of the intervention at the chosen ecological level, as well as what training and supervision are needed. Provides abundant empirical support for choices of intervention.
Intervention Level 2 (Students Please select a different sphere of the ecological model)
This section of the paper describes with consistent detail the goals, methods, and steps or stages of the intervention at the chosen ecological level, as well as what training and supervision are needed. Provides abundant empirical support for choices of intervention.
Organizational Needs
This section analyzes with consistent detail the organizational policies, resources, and stakeholder cooperation necessary to implement and sustain the program delivering the interventions. Please name the policies, programs and stakeholder organizations, by citing links to websites.
This criterion is linked to a Learning Outcome Program Monitoring and Evaluation
This section of the paper details appropriate, culturally unbiased measures that are used to monitor and evaluate program outcomes, including quantitative and qualitative assessment of the Level 1 and Level 2 interventions.
Conclusion
Write a conclusion section to summarize and highlight all the relevant points listed throughout the submission. -

Title: Examining the Use and Myths of Capital Punishment in 2020: Addressing Inequalities and Safeguards for a More Fair and Rational System
What are your initial thoughts about the use of capital punishment in 2020 (there is no right or wrong answer)? Why do you think so many people still believe the myths regarding the death penalty, mainly the cost effective-ness and deterrent effect? And what does the research say. Are we saving money? Are we reducing violent crime and homicide rates by having the death penalty?
What was your takeaway from the TED talk by civil rights lawyer Bryan Stevenson? After watching his TED talk, doing the readings and going through the lecture on issues with race, what safeguards could be put into place to address racial and class inequalities and disparities with regard to the death penalty?
Briefly discuss the significant problems surrounding the way capital punishment is administered in Texas. Are we really only sentencing the worst of the worst? What are some proposed changes to making it more fair and rational? Feel free to bring in outside sources and use the lectures notes and class readings. -
