  • “Request for Time Off and Concerns Regarding Recent Events”

Hello, Please help me rewrite this letter. It’s already done it just needs to be changed a little and use more appropriate wording to send to admin.
    Letter
    I hope all is well.
I wanted to check back in with you since our meeting on Wednesday, would it be possible to receive some time off until this situation is resolved/ sometime has passed?
Unfortunately, I am aware that the BFH is short staffed and indeed in need of help. But at this point with the different families and colleagues discussing the situation that happened to Jayden it’s truly overwhelming. I’ve asked so many times that our names (Jayden and I) were not mentioned but unfortunately it’s already been mentioned, and it’s very disappointing and uncomfortable.
Juanita and Shauna has inform staff not to discuss the events with the parents multiple times but yet many parents in fact know all of the details about both incidents to be exact (more than what’s written on the DSS website). I have informed families to talk to admin about their feelings and concerns plenty of times. My family, has been affected due to these unfortunate events and now it honestly feels like Jan 23rd all over again, but this time I can’t conceal my feelings, anymore.
Since sharing details(emails) with families the spike of conversations has me disquiet. This has really taken a toll on my mental health. Jayden and/ or I should be the ones in fault with the finding on Annette in the CPS investigation. I’ve heard staff expressing their feelings and concern and they have a right to feel the way they want to but with all of the negative remarks pertaining a 3 year old leaving out of a building is beyond me. Please let me note that not all remarks from families and colleagues have been negative. I have been very transparent with Juanita regarding this situation. Since the unfortunate event regrading Jayden, like I mentioned to you on Wednesday, I have spoken to Ms. Annette and she also became my co-teacher shortly after the Jan 23rd, and we worked great together.
Juanita and Shauna did inform me of the staff consequences that were involved regarding Jayden. Although, I do believe that I should’ve been more informed of the resent events that took place (Town Hall Meeting, Emails to families) instead of being looked as an Employee. Lastly, I do know that this last couple of weeks has been very difficult/ stressful for Admin and the individuals involved so I do apologies for adding this extra layer of stress but I do need time to mentally step until things calm down.
