Prior to beginning work on this assignment,
Review Chapters 1 through 6 of Inflation: What It Is, Why It’s Bad, and How to Fix It.
Steve Forbes is an expert on the global economy, monetary policy, and politics. For this assignment, you will have the opportunity to analyze his book and apply the information to real-world implications. To deepen your knowledge of the current economic situation in the U.S., you may review the documentary Age of Easy Money (1:16:22 to 1:28:39).

Through a written analysis, you will explore inflation. Review the book and answer the following questions for each chapter. Be sure to analyze and write in your own words. Do not overly rely on quotes to support your points.
Chapter 1: What Is Inflation?
Analyze the fundamental characteristics and causes of inflation.
Write a three to five sentence paragraph summary of the chapter.
Chapter 2: Not-So-Great Moments in Inflation History
Analyze how historical instances of inflation have impacted economies and societies.
Write a three to five sentence paragraph summary of the chapter.
Chapter 3: Why Inflation Is Bad
Evaluate the impact of inflation on business operations and family finances.
Write a three to five sentence paragraph summary of the chapter.
Chapter 4: How to End the Malaise
Identify the most effective strategies and policies that you think are best to combat and eliminate inflation.
Write a three to five sentence paragraph summary of the chapter.
Chapter 5: What About Your Money?
Describe how individuals can protect their assets and financial well-being in the face of inflationary pressures.
Write a three to five sentence paragraph summary of the chapter.
Chapter 6: The Way Forward
List your key takeaways from this chapter and explain why those are most important to you.
Summarize, in a paragraph, how the information in the chapter leads to a greater understanding of inflation.

must be five to six double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages and formatted according to APA Style as outlined in the Writing Center’s APA Formatting for Microsoft Word resource.

must include a separate title page with the following in title case:
title of paper in bold font
Space should appear between the title and the rest of the information on the title page.

must include an introduction and conclusion paragraph.
Your introduction paragraph needs to end with a clear thesis statement that indicates the purpose of your paper.

Avoid over-dependence on direct quotes. Direct quotes are a great way to strengthen our assertions and provide support. However, be sure to avoid using excessive direct quotes in lieu of original thought. Direct quotes will not meet the requirement for analysis, application, and critical thinking. Description of assignment
Students will work on a complex case and they will need to analyse and evaluate the negotiation(s) that have been made with the critical application of course concepts and theories.  Please note, by no means are students expected to try to apply all the theories and concepts we cover in the course.  The selection and application of RELEVANT concepts and theories for the analysis is the task and forms part of the assessment.  So is the way students’ collection and assessment of the information about their case.
Topic: 
Own choice of real-life case – recent (within a maximum of 12 months!) or current, ongoing.  The case topic can be a general issue (a recent international negotiation, for example) or a recent business case.  
I am expecting students to find their own topic of interest for this work.  Famous historical cases will not be accepted. Also, cases that are older than 12 months will not be accepted.  If in doubt, check with the module leader.  Students will have to research their case by using news items, or company information.

Length
·       Minimum 2000, maximum 2500 words.
·       The word count is for the body of the essay – i.e., it does not include the Cover Sheet, Title Page, Appendix, and the List of References. 
·       A penalty of 10% per 250 words beyond the limit may be applied.
Editing:
Type up your essay using 12 point fonts, and about 2 cm margin. 
Include page numbering.
Use appropriate structure including introduction, main body containing your arguments and supporting evidence and a summary/conclusion section. 
Proofread for spelling and grammatical errors. 
Provide in-text citations and reference any of your sources – both for the case itself and for the applied theories and negotiation concepts!
