Nurses
often become motivated to change aspects within the larger health care system
based on their real-world experience. As such, many nurses take on an advocacy
role to influence a change in regulations, policies, and laws that govern the
larger health care system.
For
this assignment, identify a problem or concern in (your state) community, or
organization that has the capacity for advocacy through legislation. Research
the issue and use the “Advocacy Through Legislation” template,
attached, to complete this assignment.
You are
required to cite a minimum of three sources to complete this assignment.
Sources must be published within the last 5 years, appropriate for the
assignment criteria, and relevant to nursing practice. 
While
APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic
writing is expected, and documentation of sources should be presented using APA
formatting guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in
the Student Success Center. 
This

This week, we will be discussing the basics of digestion.  Chapter 3 covers an in-depth discussion of digestion and absorption of nutrients. The major organs of the digestive system are defined, and their functions are discussed in detail.  It also covers information on the lymphatic system, circulatory system, endocrine system, and nervous system and how they relate to digestion and absorption. Common gastrointestinal disorders will be discussed.

There are a number of methods for classifying theory in nursing.  These include classification based on range/scope or abstractness (metatheory, grand, middle-range, or practice theory) and type or purpose of the theory (descriptive, explanatory, predictive, or prescriptive).
For this week’s discussion post, address the following:
Identify one specific nursing theory that relates to your area of practice.  Feel free to go to the Currents website or look in your textbook for multiple nursing theories to choose from http://currentnursing.com/nursing_theory/Links to an external site.
Discuss the type of the selected nursing theory according to scope (meta-theory, grand, middle-range, or practice theory) and purpose (descriptive, explanatory, predictive, or prescriptive).
Provide an example of how the selected nursing theory can be applied to your area of practice.  The example should include core concepts of the theory and demonstrate its practical application.
Be sure to supplement your discussion with your personal and professional experiences.
