First, select a film from the list of available works. If you cannot access these films, you may select a different film, but you will require prior approval from your instructor.
    Films for Ethical Analysis Essay
The Jacket (2005) (R) - A Gulf war veteran is wrongly sent to a mental institution for insane criminals, where he becomes the object of a doctor’s experiments, and his life is completely affected by them. Contagion (2011) (PG 13) - When Beth Emhoff returns to Minnesota from a Hong Kong business trip, she attributes the malaise she feels to jet lag. However, two days later, Beth is dead, and doctors tell her shocked husband that they have no idea what killed her. Soon, many others start to exhibit the same symptoms, and a global pandemic explodes. Doctors try to contain the lethal microbe, but society begins to collapse as a blogger (Jude Law) fans the flames of paranoia.
Joe vs. the Volcano (1990) (PG) (Comedy)–Joe Banks is dying, but his life has pleased him anyway. When a millionaire offers him the opportunity to die and to help others by doing so and in the meantime, to live like a millionaire, Joe grabs the opportunity. His absurdist journey to his demise helps him discover the meaning of existence.
Beethoven (1992) (PG) (Comedy)-A family adopts a St. Bernard puppy, to the chagrin of the father. The puppy grows and causes mishap after mishap. The father’s and family’s love for the dog is tested when a corrupt veterinarian kidnaps the dog for a deadly experiment.

Take Care of Maya (2023) (PG 13) (Drama)- A family experiences a nightmare after their daughter exhibits unusual symptoms and they seek medical help.
Next, view the film and then write a planning document using the following subheadings: 1) Introduction 2) Ethical Analysis. The planning document should be a minimum of 250 words in length (excluding title and references pages).
Introduction (Film Synopsis) – Recommended one paragraph

Assignment 1: Discussion Questions on the US Healthcare System and Health Care Distribution Disparities

    Assignment 1: Discussion Questions
    Assignment Instructions and Details:
    Respond
to the assigned questions using the lessons and vocabulary found in the
reading. Support your answers with examples and research. Your
responses should clarify your understanding of the topic. They should be
your own—original and free from plagiarism. Follow APA guidelines for
writing style, spelling and grammar, and citation of sources.
The US Healthcare System Compared to Other Countries
    The
U.S. healthcare system is like no other industrialized country. The
U.S. spends more money on health care than any other country yet is
criticized for having one of the poorer health systems.
    Some
countries, such as Canada, Great Britain, and Sweden, follow a
socialized system of health care, while others, such as Japan, Germany,
and France, have decentralized national health programs.
Both systems have their advantages and disadvantages.
If you had to decide on one health care system for the U.S., which system would you choose and why?
Which three areas of the current U.S. health care system would you add to the system you have chosen for the U.S.? Explain why.
Justify your answers with appropriate research and reasoning.
    Disparities in Health Care Distribution
    It
is estimated that over 46 million people do not have health insurance
coverage in the United States. In addition, many more individuals are
underinsured or have such high deductibles and co-pays that they do not
even seek medical care. Given this information, the logical question
that arises is, should health care coverage be provided to everyone?
    “Moreover,
Is health care a right or a privilege?” is one of the most debatable
topics. What is your viewpoint? Support your answer with examples. There
is an unequal distribution of health care system efforts in the U.S.
Why do you think this is so, and what can be done about it? Justify your
answers with appropriate research and reasoning and comment on the
postings of at least two peers regarding why there is an unequal
distribution of health care system efforts.

Confidentiality Statement and Critical Analysis on the Impact of Intervention in Social Work Practice Confidentiality Statement: In accordance with the ethical standards of social work practice, I have taken necessary measures to ensure the confidentiality of individuals discussed in this portfolio. “Empowering Practice: Reflecting on Knowledge, Skills, and Participation in Social Work”

    1. Confidentiality Statement (up to 200
    words, not academically graded)
    Students
must complete a confidentiality statement of around 200 words to be submitted
via Moodle with the academic elements of the portfolio. In this statement the,
student must clearly state the method they have used to ensure that people
discussed in the portfolio cannot be identified.
    Guidance:
The right to confidentiality of people who use services must be rigorously
respected at all times. It is essential to ensure that individuals cannot be
    identified from documents.  Omitting
surnames is not sufficient, and will be completely irrelevant where first
names, dates of birth or other details are still included.
    The following guidelines must be
    adhered to in all cases.
    Real
names of people who use services or even their initials should never be
    included.
    Other
than in the learning agreement, the names of colleagues in the placement
agency should only be included with their written consent.
    Actual
dates of birth should never be included.
(Ages may sometimes be relevant, but need not always be exact).
    Best
practice is for students / s and Practice Educators to agree a reference e.g.
“Child A” or “Adult B” at the start of a piece of work and to use this in
all notes, etc. that are not being kept for agency purposes.
    Documents/records
that are not fully anonymised must not be removed from the agency.
    When
anonymising work for your evidence portfolio, no confidential/personal
information should be visible AT ALL. If you are blotting out documents
with black markers-these can still be transparent when held to the light
for example. Consider taking a photo copy and using this for your file.
    All
    memory sticks must be encrypted
    Students
must follow agency policies and procedures regarding the storage and movement
of agency documents, and should take similar care of documents, such as
portfolios, assignments and reports, to ensure that they are not lost or
stolen, e.g. on public transport or from cars.
    2. Critical Analysis on the impact of
Your Intervention (3,000 words) case study
    This
case study is an academic assignment and will need to be seen by the Practice
Educator and then submitted at the end of your placement via Turnitin.  It will be marked by your college tutor.
The case study may refer to work with
an individual person using services, a family or a group. We would recommend
that you discuss your choice with your practice educator in order to ensure the
case you choose is suitable. It must also demonstrate your understanding of
relevant theory and knowledge (including law) and your ability to apply it in
    practice.
You may want to consider the following
to help you in your selection of a piece of work:  Analyse the reason for your involvement and
role; be careful about the case you choose, try to avoid the most complex
pieces of work as they may be difficult to write about in a focused way.  You could choose to write about a particular
part of your work with a case e.g. just focus on your work with one child
rather than looking at all the work you did with the different members of a
family, or you could look at the first meeting you had with a service
user.  Make it clear in your introduction
that this is the strategy you are adopting and why.
Remember that your case study is not
intended to be a simplistic description of a piece of work, but rather a
critical analysis of practice that illustrates your purposeful use of your
    practice skills and values.
    Include
how you have used professional judgement and managed risk.  It is also about showing how you have applied
knowledge from literature and research; therefore, you should make it clear how
you have used knowledge to inform your practice.  You should make explicit reference to
articles, books and other sources of knowledge and you should reference these
appropriately (as you have had to do in your academic assignments).
    The structure:
    The
summary should be set out in a methodical way:
    At
the beginning – in no more than 200 words, give an overview of the agency
context of your practice including relevant legislation. This will not be
included in the word count. You may wish to include a genogram.
    An
introduction, briefly defining the piece of work chosen and reflective
    model.
    Analysis
of the initial reasons for your involvement and role
    An
analysis of how you prepared for the work
    An
analysis of how you assessed needs
    An
outline and analysis of the planning undertaken
    An
explanation and analysis of the form of intervention carried out
    An
evaluation of the work so far including a consideration of how you used
supervision and your reflections on your learning from this piece of work
    You
should have referred to the legislative background earlier but there are likely
to be specific points of law that you will need to refer to when analysing your
    practice.
*My chosen case study is a young person i have worked with in school on a project called online harms the session I worked with her on was what is real vs what is fake which i put together an interactive powerpoint. she interacted and ingaged real well the purpose was to help her be more critical of what she see online that just because you see it or read it does not make it real.*
    3. Knowledge and Skills Essay (1,000
    words)
    Identify
three to four examples from your practice which give evidence of your progress towards meeting the
requirements as outlined in the Chief Social Worker’s Knowledge and Skills
    (KSS) Statements.
You will need to choose the KSS statement for either
adults or children and families depending on your placement setting.  In this piece, you should refer to evidence of
your direct work with individuals, carers and families.  Link to theory and legislation.
    4. Choice control and participation
    essay (1,000 words)
In preparation for this piece of work refer to PCF
domain 4 “Rights and Justice” and PCF domain 8 “Contexts and
Organisations”.   In 1,000 words critically analyse how the
placement agency engages with the views of people who use services in order to
    consider power and oppression.
    This section should include:
    ·
An analysis (1,000 words) looking at the
experience of inclusion and empowerment of people who use services and/or
carers, identifying the efficacy of the approaches highlighted throughout your
    placement.
    ·
Consider to what extent people who use
services are involved in directing the service at both an individual and
    strategic level
    ·
Outline some of the challenges inherent in
attempts to involve people who use services including ethical dilemmas and how
    these can be addressed.
    All pieces other than the
confidentiality statement are graded and must, therefore, adhere to academic
writing standards. As the pieces refer to your own practice you may refer to
    yourself in the first person.
    Work
must be referenced as per the Bradford College referencing guide and include a
    full reference list.  References should
be included at the end of the submission rather than after each individual
    essay.

Analyzing the Social Media Effectiveness of [Business/Organization/Institution] on [Social Media Platform]

Follow / Explore a private business or an organization or a public institution’s social media presence for one week and on one social media platform (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, Flickr, etc.)  Your essay will express your major findings and present a well-written, interesting analysis of your chosen subject’s social media effectiveness.
As you follow the social media account, take notes on the following:
    ·      What are the product(s) /services / ideas / etc. offered?
    ·      Where / how are these things offered?
    ·      Who is the target audience? (Be as specific as possible about audience; no product or service is aimed at “everyone.” Find demographic information for customers, include it, and document it.)
Consider the overview of the social media presence of your chosen subject. What platforms do they use? How actively? etc. Why did they choose these social media platforms? In other words, how do these platforms help them connect with their target audience? Note: to be eligible, your chosen private business / organization / public institution must use written language as part of its rhetorical strategy, but you should also consider: What other sorts of compositional strategies dominate? (Videos?  Images?  Memes? Links to other social media sites or web pages?  Etc.) The consider which platform you will choose to focus on, and why.
In your analysis of the social media posts address things like:
    ·      Are posts appropriate for the brand? Why or why not?
    ·      Is there interaction between the subject and its audience?  How about between followers of the social media account? Is this interaction useful? Should there be more or less interaction?
    ·      How many followers /fans / likes, etc. does the account have? Does this seem like a successful number to you? Why or why not?
    ·      How could the subject improve its social media presence? Be realistic in terms of budget constraints and audience. (Wrong answer: “there is no way they could improve.”)
    ·      Include examples in your paper (screenshots of posts, links, quotations from posts, etc.).
    Organizational Approach to the Essay:
    In the Introduction:
    ·      Begin by energetically introducing your business / organization / institution, and smoothly stipulating the chosen social media platform, as well as the timeframe of your analysis;
    ·      Deliver your dominant impression of how your subject uses its social media platform: this is your thesis, in which you articulate the essence of your analysis;
    ·      Indicate the points of analysis to come in your body paragraphs.
    In Each Body Paragraph:
    ·      Begin with a strong, claim-driven topic sentence that establishes the main idea of your paragraph;
    ·      Spend the rest of the paragraph backing up / defending that claim by citing / quoting evidence, and through your own strong writing work.
    In the Conclusion:
    ·      State why you chose your particular business / organization / institution to follow and analyze.
    ·      Tell a story to elaborate on your personal interest / stake in the topic.
    ·      Highlight what findings most surprised or interested you.
    Your Paper Should:
    ·      Be at least 1,150 words in length (not counting elements such as screenshots, Works Cited page, etc.)
    ·      Correctly document / credit sources from the business  / organization  / institution (social media sites and, if applicable, website pages) both in-text and on a Works Cited page, and incorporate at least one good online source you find on your own (one not about the business or organization you are looking at) that you can use to deepen / enhance your analysis.
